Facilities and Capacity
The overall capacity of Black Barn is for approximately 175 people, making it ideal for a whole host of diverse celebrations. Couples who wish to enjoy their ceremony in the open air are welcome to choose from multiple sites. To-be-weds can join hand-in-hand outdoors as their nearest and dearest gather to take in the milestone moment. Majestic trees and eye-catching views are available around the grounds, providing beautiful and romantic backdrops for the special event. After the vows have been swapped and the union has been made official, the newlyweds can accompany their photographer to pose for photos around Black Barn. As everyone waits in anticipation for the grand reception, invitees can take the time to admire the vistas all around. Beautiful but Disappointing
We were thrilled to choose the Black Barn for our wedding. Having heard fantastic reviews, our initial tour only confirmed it – the venue is stunning. It’s evident that the family has invested tremendous effort into the landscape and design. It truly serves as a perfect all-in-one location for both the ceremony and reception. Additionally, unlike many other venues, there are no mandatory vendors or associated fees.
However, we encountered challenges in planning as various individuals were responsible for different aspects of our wedding. Moreover, our contract lacked clarity regarding the services provided and omitted, and our rehearsal dinner timeline was changed three times.
We also received feedback from several guests, vendors, family members, and our wedding party about the staff's rudeness and short tempers. One notable incident involved my brother accidentally bumping into a bartender, who responded with, “Be careful, you drunk!” Please keep in mind that my brother has been sober for five years.
When the owner inquired about our day, I tried to express our concerns, but I felt that our conversation was met with defensiveness and dismissal. After reflecting on this interaction, I decided to share this review.
Overall, while the Black Barn is a beautiful venue and we found some staff to be professional, the treatment of our guests and family did not meet our expectations.
I hope this experience at the Black Barn can be viewed as an “off” day, and I sincerely wish they become more receptive to the feedback from those they serve in the future.

Wedding of My Dreams!!
The team at Black Barn truly helped me create and carry out the wedding of my dreams. Between the complementary hours of planning with their team to the day-of coordinating services that I quite happily paid for. I couldn't imagine a better wedding day! They went the extra mile to create a day I will be thinking about for the rest of my life. I adored every moment of my wedding day and cannot rave about this venue enough!

The Van Akens EST. 2024
We went for a tour at the Black Barn Wedding Venue last year, and it was one of the easiest yes's we ever had made! If you're looking for a rustic, but elegant and simply beautiful venue to marry the love of your life, than look no further! The views are breathtaking if you are wanting to be out somewhere in the country, and the upkeep of the outside of the building makes getting married here that much better! Madeline, Aaron, Olivia, and the rest of the BB team are super easy, and fun to work with. They really bring your vision to life, and support you from day one. It's safe to say that we where super sad to leave this beautiful venue, but the memories we have at this place are ones we will cherish, and remember, forever! Thanks team, you all were simply KICKASS AMAZING!

We got married at Black Barn in August 2023 and it was a wonderful experience! This is a family-owned business and that is what makes it special. Everything went so smoothly and Madeleine was so easy to work with! We used Aaron's day of coordination services and it was the absolute BEST use of money. He helped us so much with planning ideas in the months leading up and step up and coordination the day of. I kept thinking I needed to be more involved and helpful but it was already all taken care of. I truly had no stress the day of and that is all due to Aaron and his team taking care of everything. Overall, we had the best day and the Black Barn team was fantastic. Our guests had the best time and still comment on how beautiful and well run the venue was. Could not recommend enough!

Something Special
This is an amazing and beautiful venue, with great facilities like the bride's room, a groom's garage, bar, bathrooms, and more! The countryside surrounding the barn is gorgeous and peaceful. The Black Barn is really something special. Coordinating was easy thanks to the family running the venue. They were considerate, helpful, and professional.

The Black Barn
This family run venue exceeded my expectations! Aaron and Madeleine were incredible to work with and have a real passion for what they do. The venue was beautiful, the staff was fantastic, and I couldn't say enough good things about making the decision to get married here. This was the least stressful wedding I have ever been to... and it was my own! 10/10 for choosing Aaron and his decorative eye. I wouldn't have changed a thing!

Beautiful Wedding Venue!
From first viewing to our wedding Black Barn and their staff was amazing! They put so much time and effort into making the venue beautiful and made us feel so special during the planning process and the day of. The bridal suite and grooms garage are both perfect spaces and make for a stress free morning as you don’t have to worry about getting to the venue. The staff made set up easy and Madeleine ensured everything ran smoothly during the wedding! Couldn’t have asked for a better location for our wedding!

We saw Mrs. Madeline's vision on paper and knew this spunky farm girl was onto something specular, and oh boy!!!!! Did she ever produce.
The Black Barn and its team are genuine home-grown people.
From Aaron's attention to detail, his zest for beauty and his gentle touch, this man has your day covered.
The Black Barn team simply love what they do, and it shows through right from the first consult to the final minutes of your big day.
They made my fairytale wedding come to life without a single flaw.

Above and beyond
ABOVE & BEYOND is how I would describe our experience with the Black Barn venue. We had our wedding in September 2022 and from the moment we first contacted them up until the wedding day, they have gone above and beyond in all aspects to make our day special. After conducting research on all of the venues in the Edmonton area, the Black Barn stood out to us because they offered more than just a venue, they offered an experience. From the four hours of complimentary wedding planning, day of coordination, prompt communication, use of their decor and the immense amount of extra services included in the price we had to go with Black Barn. Aaron, the day of coordinator did most of the decorating with such an eye for perfection and class, the bartenders that we hired from them were creative and made fun cocktails and shots for all of our guests, the bridal suite was gorgeous and filled with natural light, and they even had coffee made for us upon our arrival in the morning. We wanted a champagne tower right after our ceremony, and Aaron had everything ready for us. Throughout the evening they made sure the space was tidy and helped our DJ transition to the patio for our first dance. For those guests who didn’t want to dance inside the barn, they brought out portable fire towers so that they could relax on the patio all night. At the end of the night, they cleaned up everything, stacked our extra alcohol and even boxed up leftover decor that could be reused. With the Black Barn, they will make your vision a reality. My husband and I live in British Columbia, and had to plan our wedding from one province over. It was an absolute breeze because of working with the Black Barn. We can not recommend them enough. The venue is full of beautiful landscaping, a classy patio, elegant decor and wonderful staff.

Beyond what we could imagine for ourselves!
My husband and I were so honoured to be the first wedding at the black barn. To say that the owners and staff are kind and caring is an understatement. They were flexible with our timeline and made sure the space looked stunning. This is in addition to a beautiful space that would have been absolutely perfect without any decor at all. If you want a rustic touch while still looking elegant and somewhat modern, this venue is a great choice!
