Situated in the beautiful foothills of Calgary, Alberta, Jumping Pound Ranch is a rustic wedding venue boasting views of the gorgeous Rocky Mountains. As a working ranch, the property offers a great variety of event spaces, including a cliff-edge ceremony site that overlooks the sleepy Jumping Pound Creek. This picturesque setting is truly ideal for couples who dream of a private countryside escape for their nuptial event. Every memory of the big day is sure to last a lifetime.

Facilities and Capacity

Jumping Pound Ranch provides wedding parties with exclusive use of a section of the property for the celebrations. This land is beautifully maintained and features an abundance of stunning vistas for guests to enjoy. Grassy lawns, rugged landscape, and tree-lined horizons stretch out as far as the eye can see. Following the ceremony, guests can make their way over to a sophisticated peak tent for the remainder of the day. Nearlyweds can enjoy the seclusion of this rural location for their entire wedding, taking advantage of the unique photo opportunities available. Capacity for this venue is 200.

Services Offered

As a family-run ranch, the venue strives to accommodate every need. Wedding packages can include on-site event planning assistance and event rentals to ease the stress of the upcoming day. Lighting, sound, tables, and chairs are all available to complete the celebrations. The team offers to set up the event, placing the furniture according to a pre-approved floor plan. Additionally, couples can find their remaining wedding services via our dedicated list of recommended vendors.

The best tent wedding experience we could have asked for in the most stunning location!

We held our September 2022 wedding at Jumping Pound Ranch and it was a DREAM. We heard about the ranch serendipitously, and when we drove out to meet Karli and take a look at the site, there was just a beautiful field of snow and glorious sky. It felt meant to be. Karli and Clarence then put in unimaginable effort to build a glorious venue from the ground up in record time. We really wanted a tent wedding, but were struggling to find an affordable way to do that, especially without sacrificing amenities like bathrooms and power! JPR was the perfect solution. It's far enough away from the city to feel magically secluded, but close enough to be logistically feasible. We are already feeling nostalgic about the drive to and from the venue during prep and on your wedding day, the landscape is breathtaking! A perfect example of big open sky Alberta.
To compliment the stunning view, the venue also features beautiful wood plank flooring inside the tent and a very popular cocktail area overlooking the valley. The venue owners (Karli, Clarence, and their sweet kids) are delightful to work with, supporting us in designing and hosting the creative and unique wedding of our dreams. We encourage any couples planning an Alberta wedding to book JPR asap!

THE best night of my life!

There are not enough words to express my gratitude to Jumping Pound Ranch. Karli goes above and beyond and she is the kindest soul. The venue is beautiful, the setting will take your guests breath away. The tent it’s stunning, spacious and simply elegant. The location is just over 20 minutes outside of the city which is extremely convenient. I truly felt my wedding was meant to be at JPR. The day went off without a hitch. When the night ended I was truly sad. It was genuinely the best night of our lives and I wish we could do it all over again!! A stunning wedding venue!!

The Jumping Pound Ranch wedding venue is absolutely stunning!! The tent set up is beautiful & the views are amazing. Karli, the owner, is so amazing to work with & goes above & beyond. I highly recommend the JPR for your wedding!

The most incredible location!

How to sum up the most amazing location, owned by the most wonderful people!
Karli and Clarence are true gems of people, and they helped us to have the most magical wedding.
And the location!!! You cannot find a better spot that provides privacy, stunning views, space to host the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing, and not feel cramped in any way!
The bridal suite was perfect for the ladies, and the camping was ideal, too!

Amazing venue!

Karli & Clarence were amazing! They were responsive, accommodating, and a pleasure to work with! Our wedding day was so stress-free and we had so much fun because we knew we were in such good hands! We got so many compliments from our guests about the beauty of the venue! Our close family and friends also got to witness how amazing Karli & Clarence were throughout the day and leading up to our event, and were so impressed by their amazing customer service! We can't recommend this venue enough!

Wedding Experience

Karli and Calvin were amazing to work with for my daughter's wedding. They responded to our many questions very quickly and helped us find unique tables and chairs and outdoor decor to personalize our event. Then when the weather turned stormy last minute they saved our event by coordinating a large tent for us and reset up the entire ceremony area. It is an amazing venue, the views are stunning and we would highly recommend holding your event there

Astonishing

My husband and I had our wedding there this September 2022! Karli and Clarence helped make our day so special and easy going that the stress levels were minimal! They have the most beautiful venue that if you’re looking for a ranch, rustic mountain wedding you don’t have to look anymore! With a beautiful spot for the ceremony, a spacious reception area and a view that’ll accent your wedding photos (even our guests had some amazing photos with the creek and mountains in the back). They have it all! We couldn’t picture getting married anywhere else, with the ranch and the Paterson family our wedding day was perfect!

After a career in Sports and Entertainment (Concerts and Hockey) Karli has settled down on her husband's family ranch and is realizing her dream of owning her own wedding venue!

Although new to the industry, she is eager to go above and beyond to make your big day special. Her and her husband Clarence have two beautiful little boys, and located on the same property as the wedding venue, is their operational sheep ranch.
