Best day of our lives

My husband and I are so happy that we chose Maple Meadows Farm and and Event Centre in Port Colborne Ontario. This venue was close to home for us and the majority of our guests but I can say with confidence after touring many other venues in the region that this one is the best.

Laurie and Brian Pye have so kindly chosen to share their beautiful property and restore this historic barn to celebrate people's love for each other in the community. We are so grateful to have spent our wedding day here with all of our family and friends and we really feel like we were able to bring everyone together on Aug 17th.

Laurie and Brian Pye have so kindly chosen to share their beautiful property and restore this historic barn to celebrate people's love for each other in the community. We are so grateful to have spent our wedding day here with all of our family and friends and we really feel like we were able to bring everyone together on Aug 17th.

We were graced with an unexpected thunderstorm one hour prior to our ceremony however Laurie, Brian and Ashley respected my dream of keeping the ceremony outside when the rain stopped. They pulled out their leaf blowers and cloths and all of our guests stayed nice and dry. Thank you so much for doing this!

For anyone inquiring this venue, Laurie grows the majority of the floral here on the property. My bridesmaids and I had our breaths taken away when we saw our bouquets. She went above and beyond for us and I will definitely be preserving my flowers.

At sunset hour Laurie took us out to the field in their golf cart with our photographers and planner. This was such a memorable experience for us. We captured beautiful photos in the pink skies which really show cased the beauty and romance of the property.

Laurie, Ashley, Brian and the Maple Meadows staff were such a pleasure to work with! Honest review

A long honest review..
We booked our wedding a year before our wedding. We fell in love with this venue & trusted the owners. We were looking forward to so much!
Unfortunately 2021 was full of covid rule changes ( multiple times ) & we can recognize some of the issues were absolutely not their fault. Heading up to our big day, we felt like due to covid they were trying to push us more into a ceremony and to come back in 2022 for a big wedding. With our parents ages, we wanted to be married in 2021. So we chose to go ahead with the wedding.
We were given a designated wedding planner, Jessica (she was awesome!)
We met with her, 2 weeks prior to the wedding. Laurie (owner) and her daughter, Ashley (Ashley also helpful!) Also attended this meeting. We were finalizing some details at this time.
When you book your wedding here, you can choose to use their flowers from their beautiful gardens. You can bring your wedding party & create your own bouquets with Laurie. Laurie will make the arrangements you request. I was a very easygoing bride .. I looked forward to making the bouquets with my girls.
At this meeting we were informed our wedding party was too large so we had to choose between bouquets or decorations. We chose the decorations. I had to get a g
Hold of a florist to make bouquets last minute! Most of the arrangements Laurie made were great. The one she made may have come from the wedding before . The colours clashed the colours that I asked for. They were pretty but did not go with my colours. (Several people can back me up on that)

We signed a contract that states a specific schedule for your rehearsal.. depending on the day you're married. Originally The day before had a wedding booked, but we were looking at availability for someone else and realized the day before was open so it was discussed that we would have our rehearsal the day before. Some of our wedding party was from out of town..
At the meeting 2.weeks prior, we were told 2 other weddings were now booked that weekend . Laurie would set us up with Ashley and Jessica to help, and she would check with the other weddings if we could come for a rehearsal. Depending on whether they were getting married at the barn. Our signed contract had a specific date. So they broke out the contract at that point. . Our wedding party all had to wait to book time off because of their miscommunication. They were all unhappy and not impressed.
I would email and call to keep in touch, as the online set up wasnt working on our end. .
Laurie was to pass on my info to Jessica after the meeting.
Jessica (WEDDING PLANNER) was given my wrong contact info by owner (proof in email by owner)
I had discovered Jessica was trying to get info about our wedding plans from my vendors, because she couldn't get ahold of me .it was just a week before the wedding we finally connected.
On Day of the wedding. The barn wasn't cleaned properly from the wedding before
We arrived between 8am-9am.. we were getting married at 1230! Our groomsmen and my husband had to carry all the tables out from behind the bar .. just hours before we said I do, so they could get in with the booze. . After all of that clean up, We still had to return the next day to clean again. The next day, My cousin and I were followed out to her truck by Laurie who accused of stealing vases. We hardly used any of their things due to covid concerns. Laurie.was around often and not being friendly the the guests and even approached me trying to give me the key to the box for cards. She was stating someone was trying to get into it. I found out it was my mom she was accusing who was trying to add cards someone gave her. We were all so easy going with her & we were upset with all walking on egg shells with how the moods were with the owners. The bar had no running water, no where for drinks to be poured out. When our bartenders opened the barn doors because it was hot .. the other owner came over from the house and told them to shut the doors because it was too loud. Our wedding was done by 8-9pm. It wasn't even late and it was a calmer wedding . The barn had a horrible smell of septic, and was leaking rain on the guests. So many complaints on that. .. half of guests had to deal with that smell (2 of which work/retired from the water treatment plant so they are well aware of the smell .. Because of an outbreak at our wedding Public Health got involved.
.Public Health went there that week. Some of the reports online have since expired but 1 is still online
The place is beautiful & we looked so forward to everything. We feel upset about our wedding day. We really trusted them & not even an apology.
We loved the horses and Gus.. weather wasn't their fault.. but all little let downs. At the wedding, they said they'd donate flowers to the local retirement home, and we would get thank you notes (didn't happen) .. telling us they'd call us to come back for pictures by the end of March (they didn't)
We are a super easygoing couple. We were open to all of their ideas. We went to understand things happen.
We have reports now from Public Health & I am disappointed and sad with the results. I hope that the changes that were made are followed through.

Theres really something to he said in business about recognizing some things that happen are not ok & apologize..

Dream Venue!

We had our fairytale wedding at Maple Meadows this past July and couldn't be more thankful to Laurie, Brian & their team for all their amazing hard work! Working with Laurie and Brian was an absolute dream. We planned our wedding while living abroad, but communication was always easy and they were very accommodating. If you have a vision for you wedding, they will help you achieve it! Laurie is incredibly talented when it comes to working with flowers and created the most beautiful floral arch for us. Thank you so much for helping make our day so special and memorable!

Best Day Ever

Laurie and Brian are like family, from the moment we went for a tour, to two years later! We always felt so welcomed, and loved. Even through a pandemic, everything was smooth sailing and easy as pie ;) . I could not have imagined my wedding day to be anywhere else. Everything was above and beyond what I could have ever dreamed of! All of our guests still talk about how lovely our wedding was! I highly recommend Maple Meadows to anyone looking to DIY your wedding!

An incredible Niagara rustic venue!

Maple Meadows is one of my fave Niagara wedding locations. I get giddy anytime I get a new inquiry from a couple for this incredible venue. As a professional wedding photographer of 15+ years with @theloverlyco I have been documenting weddings at Maple Meadows since 2016, before they hosted weddings in their stunning barn. It amazes me how much they enhance the property and offerings each year. Laurie and Bryan take great pride in hosting weddings for incredible couples, they go above and beyond every time and are just a true delight to work with. You can not go wrong with this gorgeous rustic venue.

Farm wedding of my dreams

Laurie's service blew me away. She provided more than I expected and made my day something truly special. She was very accommodating during a lot of unknowns with the pandemic, and helped make things as smooth as possible. The decor, and florals were something out of my dreams, and the service was kind, and so focused on making the day as easy and wonderful for us as possible. Plus what's more magical than horses on your wedding day!

The Perfect Venue

This venue is stunning! The grounds are truly a dream come true. You add in 2 adorable dogs, 2 horses and their donkey Gus and it's perfect. Not only that, but the owners Laurie and Brian are two of the nicest people I have met. They worked with us constantly through covid changes and all the questions we had. Laurie has an amazing eye for decor and helped us at every turn. Her daughter Ashley was also so helpful and kind. She helped our wedding day go smoothly and met our schedule deadlines. Words cannot describe how happy my guests and we are for choosing this gorgeous venue. Highly recommend is an understatement.
