I can not say enough good things about My experience with Pine and Pond. Not only is the venue absolutely stunning but they make it so easy to plan a wedding like a pro. They outline everything they need from you so clearly and even have an Outline of recommended vendors so you know you are working with top individuals in the industry that come pre-vetted! It was so helpful as this was my first time planning an event of this size (as it is for many of us).

If you are looking for a beautiful location where your ceremony and reception are in the same place (highly recommend) then I would strongly urge you to look into planning your special day with Pine and Pond. Our wedding day was everything we hoped for and more and that’s all thanks to Pine and Pond.

We got married at Pine & Pond July 20th, 2024. Things that went well:
-Beautiful venue, beautiful area!
-Separate little houses for the grooms & bridal party to get ready in.
-Communication with the venue leading up to the wedding was very easy and fast.
-The venue is very organized. You get a planning guide once you secure your date.
-Venue is well staffed and able to accommodate needs and special requests.
-The venue includes really beautiful decor that saves you costs in the long run. I loved the reception table decor, the chairs, etc.
-The list of preferred vendors is also really helpful. It made the planning process fairly smooth being able to pick caterers and shuttle services that work with the venue often.
-Alcohol is easily ordered through the Ponoka liquor store, gets delivered the day of the wedding for you, and whatever is unopened automatically gets returned. This is amazing.
-All the points listed above made it easier for us to plan our wedding here. It was invaluable that the venue is so organized and experienced at hosting weddings.
Areas for improvement:
-We needed some assistance the day of while we were getting ready as there was a missing part for coffee pod machine in the school house. It took a while before we saw a staff member so that we could ask for one.
-During our ceremony there was no microphone provided. There was a mic stand, but with no mic on it. Sadly only the first few rows of people were able to hear our vows. I did contact the venue about this after to provide feedback, and was told there were microphones in the ceremony sound hut. We had a family friend doing the music for the ceremony; he spent a lot of time in the sound hut, and he did not see a mic. I was extremely disappointed in this. A microphone should be standard set up for a ceremony. And if it is the responsibility of the client to set up the mic themselves, it should have been mentioned in the planning guide, but it wasn't.
-Be prepared for extra charges: I am grateful for all the venue includes. However, the venue's standard times are check in at 10am and check out at 12am (bar must close 1hr to end time). The standard rental times of the venue are disappointing given the cost of the venue. There is a 200$ an hour charge for extra time. Extra costs added up quickly between time, extra bar tending time, extra decor, bar package, cabin rental for bride and groom, and a pet fee. I was really surprised by the pet fee given the venue advertises that the bride and groom are allowed to bring their dog for the ceremony.
-Loosing access to the getting ready houses by 6pm was inconvenient. It's also the only places with AC and we got married during a heat wave. It's a nice place to cool off. no AC in the cabin.
-Cleanliness of outdoor areas: Some of their main picture spots are not cleaned outside. E.g. the boat is not wiped down, the chairs outside of the cabin were extremely dirty. Being in a white dress and wanting to take pictures in these areas, I was surprised that they were not clean. The porch and dock were not swept etc. (cob webs, dust, dirt). The pond had some algae and debris (which is expected in hot weather I know - but it could be better maintained).
-It would be helpful if there was a point of contact for the day just as someone who can oversee all the staff set up, and someone you can reach easily if you needed (E.g. missing items for coffee machine, missing mic, replacement for toilet paper and paper towels (in the school house we ran out). Not necessarily a coordinator, but just someone from the venue who can sort of act as a manager for you that day.
-The venue offers a day or coordinator now (they weren't when we booked the venue).But we chose a different coordinator regardless with a larger scope of practice (she was more involved in the planning process, attended rehearsal dinner etc).
-We really loved having our wedding at Pine&Pond despite the few hiccups. I know the venue is always striving for better and improving their services. I would still highly recommend this venue.

From the booking process to the wedding day, everything went smoothly! The staff were very friendly and helpful which made it a stress free day. Along with decor being included they were able to setup and takedown without us having to worry about it. The scenery is truly beautiful and I couldn’t recommend it more to anyone looking for a natural outdoor venue for their wedding!

It is a gorgeous property, I absolutely loved the venue. It definitely was worth the price, especially when Decor, setup and take down, and the ceremony space and reception is all-in-one. Such a relief, and we had everyone attend both. Had zero headaches that day, and it was such a blast. Highly recommend 👌

Pine and Pond is an absolutely stunning venue situated just outside of Ponoka, Alberta.
We had our wedding here on September 11, 2021 and it was absolutely amazing. You get the entire grounds from large grassy areas for cocktail hour and lawn games, an outdoor bar, fire pit area with ample amounts of seating, a separate outdoor ceremony area with platform and arch, bride and groom getting ready buildings, a see-through tent for reception/partying and another bar, and my list goes on!!
Our guests could not stop raving about the venue, and had so many different areas to enjoy themselves, which eased our minds while we took photos.
Working with Keith was a breeze, he was timely in responses, was flexible with us and our vision, and on the day staff assisted with set-up and any questions we had, but were also "hands off" where you felt it was your own private property for the evening!
If you are looking for a place that has it all from decor you can utilize, tons of parking (and you can leave your car overnight), vendor suggestions, no corkage fee, beautiful wood tables, sound system, projector system and so much more, you are in the right place.
We will forever cherish our beautiful day, and have so many stunning photos that we did not have to go anywhere to take, as the property has so many picture-perfect spots.

Cannot say enough good things about Pine and Pond & their staff. Keith (the owner) was so flexible and patient when we needed to make decisions re: covid. We also hired their bartenders for the night, and they were so great. The venue itself is also stunning and provides many different backgrounds for photos. I’ve had nothing but compliments from my guests about the venue and their staff.

Our rehearsal day & wedding were SO beautiful at Pine & Pond!! Our guests were amazed by the beauty of the venue & we were able to make it feel so intimate!! If you’re looking for a venue that has everything you need on site too, Pine & Pond is the best choice!!! Love love love!

The staff were professional and attentive, making sure all our needs were met. Our guests were impressed with the setting and the organization of the event.
