We were married in November of 2017 and had a wonderful experience with the DoubleTree by Hilton in downtown Toronto and, especially with Heidi Kecskemeti, the Wedding and Social Event Specialist there. I would highly recommend any couple who is planning to get married in Toronto to contact her. She went above and beyond for us and we will never forget her as a part of our precious memories. As I've told her, she was born to help people create special memories. You will benefit from her enthusiasm, experience and passion for wedding planning.

We made the decision to get married in September, so we only had 2 months to plan. We were not planning a large wedding because there was no time to invite out-of-town guests, but we wanted to share this special day with our immediate families and close friends in an intimate environment. As you can imagine, we also did not have much time to save up for the reception and did not want to go into debt. Finding Heidi and the DoubleTree was definitely "meant to be" for us.

Heidi offered us the Ottawa Room which is a large and open yet private room (note: large and roomy for a smaller wedding). She arranged it so that we were able to have our ceremony and reception in the same space. And for no extra charge. She worked within our budget and the wedding turned out beautifully....better than we had dreamed. The space was perfect for our families because there was room for the smaller children to let off steam (play) in a safe environment while the adults enjoyed the meal and toasts. We chose the luncheon buffet, which was super reasonably priced, and the food was delicious. We were allowed to stay all afternoon and into the early evening. We cut the wedding cake, had our first dance and then the music played while everyone chatted and danced the day away. It was beautiful and memorable. Everyone had positive things to say about the room, the food and the comfortable atmosphere.

We were able to decorate the room the night before, and to our surprise, Heidi was there to help out. She even let us borrow some of the hotel's beautiful decorations. Leading up to the wedding, she was always available to answer all of our questions, many times returning emails on a Sunday or in the evening. Her suggestions put the special touches on our wedding space and she was very accommodating whenever we had "bright' ideas or special requests. I, fondly, started referring to her as my wedding planner. We knew that she was busy helping many other couples and event planners but it felt like she was there just for us. She also popped in throughout the wedding day to make sure everything was going smoothly, even though she was taking care of a very large wedding in another room.

We were able to take some of our wedding pictures, with the city-scape in the background, by just stepping outside (it was cold out). There are many places, within a minute's walk from the hotel, to take pictures e.g. city hall, the courts, the Law Society's garden. You could literally plan your whole wedding within one city block.

Heidi and the DoubleTree played a major role in making our day stress-free, beautiful and memorable and we are grateful to have had our wedding there.

Overall the team was great. The food was amazing and we are very happy that we chose the Double tree. There were some issues with getting everyone checked into their rooms but otherwise everything went as planned.

Our event planner with the double tree (Karen) was great, she kept checking with us, making sure we had what we needed, the personnel in charge of the reception were wonderful, they made sure we hade the food and drinks we wanted, made sure everything was being served on time and kept the flow of the reception smooth and just perfect. The only proplem we had was the front desk. The front desk for the hotel did not seem to be on board with anything that was going on. I would definetly recommend Karen and the double tree for a wedding event, they just need to work on the front desk.

Awesome location and great staff. Very helpful. The perfect Venue for any occasion! I will highly reccomend this Hotel to ll my friends and family! The food is incredible and the rooms are fantastic. You are close to the whole fo downtown and can walk to most attractions. We just love this Hotel!

We had our wedding in July at the Doubletree. Heidi was amazing and too all the pressure of us. We gace her our budget and she gave us our dewam wedding!She and all the staff went above and beyond what we expected. This is the ultimate venue for any occasion.

Absolutely phenomenal service at the DoubleTree. We held two major evening events (a pre-wedding function and a wedding reception) at the DoubleTree. They also catered our wedding ceremony. From top to bottom, the service and assistance was exceptional!

The DoubleTree staff is very professional. They met with us in advance, with the managers, catering coordinator, and chef to make sure all three of our events were well-planned. They had a complete floor plan to ensure how we wanted the tables set up, went through the food, signage, and other services so that everything was clear, and followed up with us where we were supposed to provide information and had neglected to do so. The DoubleTree staff gave me much needed piece of mind, as I was planning my wedding alone and needed assistance.

The venue was beautiful, the service was excellent, and the food was delicious. Despite holding two events in the same location, our guests had nothing but rave reviews. I would highly recommend the DoubleTree for your wedding or function. Really excellent!

After some rough patches as the hotel changed ownership the site coordinator we ended up with was extremely helpful and accommodating. It was great to have the venue and catering all handled by one point of contact and the hotel staff was very helpful before and during the event.
