A dream come true!

We got married at Ivey Spencer Leadership Centre on Saturday, July 22, 2023 and I can’t recommend it enough. We had a wonderful experience from planning to executing our wedding ceremony and reception. The venue was stunning and the staff provided excellent service. Our guests raved about the food and the grounds.

Laura Bartel was our wedding coordinator and she was a pleasure to work with and I would recommend this venue along with Laura to anyone looking to plan a wedding. Her experience with wedding planning, knowledge of catering, menu selections and pairing options for the meal choices were very helpful to our planning process. She responded quickly to all of our questions and concerns.

We have been getting non-stop compliments about how amazing the wedding was and how much fun they had. Can’t thank Laura and the team at Ivey Spencer enough!

It was a magical day, the best day!

You can’t go wrong with this stunning venue. Very kind and professional staff. Very accommodating. Food is absolutely delicious. Easy to communicate with the staff too.

Please read this before you book

If you're thinking of having your wedding here I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
TLDR: continual shuffle and cancelling of hotel rooms, including bride and groom's and guests from afar, lack of care for allergies, getting ready room left a mess and uncleaned, wrong set up times, having to move our first look, booking link frequently broken, front of venue under construction, made us late to our rehearsal.

The venue looked so beautiful, but it was the most chaotic, disorganized experience imaginable. Every step of the way came with unnecessary stress.

After we booked the venue we were given a booking link to give our guests, and a portal to monitor bookings. Sounds great.... But it broke continually, including once our save the dates were in hand. We had guests frantically calling us telling us it wasn't working. It would either tell people reservations were closed or full. It broke many times. This continued over a year, with us finally choosing to go without the link on our invitations.We had to add blocks of rooms 10 at a time by requesting more, which never went well- the amount we requested not being added, the link breaking again, it made us feel like part time employees of the hotel.
Then all of our guests got cancellation notices in error. The hotel was pretty unapologetic, blamed software transition issues repeatedly, never taking ownership.
Then they forgot about my allergies at our tasting, so I couldn't participate in some of it. The chef came out and spoke with me, he was so kind and so embarrassed (even though that was beyond his control- he hadn't been told). It was one of very few honest and kind interactions when things went awry. Bartending and wait staff were also always so kind, but it felt like they and the chef were exceptions to the rest.
A month to the date they announced the whole front entry would be under construction. Guests day of were confused by this and thought they had the wrong place. We wanted to take pictures at the gates but couldn't because it was a mess.
They forgot to tell us the speakers at the venue were broken until day before, when they "reminded us." Thankfully our DJ was a lifesaver and brought his own.

When we went to check in we didn't have a room, and were eventually given a room they told us would come with upcharge fee. It turned out it still had other people's stuff in it. No apologies, no ownership, just an "it is, what it is" approach. We had to get ready for our rehearsal in a guest's room, couldn't unpack, and were late to our rehearsal from the chaos even though we left a huge amount of time. We later found out other family members from afar also didn't have rooms when they showed up, even though we had written confirmation of all rooms up until the day before the wedding.
Our rehearsal dinner buffet had mini plates, guests had to serve themselves 4 and 5 times.
The getting ready room in the morning for the girls was similar - the exterior doors to it were left open all night, bugs everywhere, windows sweating, dishes, drinks and other people's stuff. I called the front desk, and someone came after 2 separate phone calls over an hour because no one showed. They never cleaned the windows, my sweet bridesmaids did so it wouldn't be in photos. When we later followed up higher up with the venue about all of this their response was to focus on how they could've moved us, and act like it was the coordinator's fault (who had also only joined a couple months before our wedding)..... but we booked that room for photos.
They gave us the wrong set up time for decor, our groomsmen went back and finished between photos.
They randomly added their own decor ziptied to the gazebo, so our photographer moved our first look.
Mistakes and things beyond control happen, heck there was even a strike during our wedding that they had to call us about day before. We were totally okay with that. What was so weird with all the issues was the amount of problems, and the lack of apology or ownership. It made everything so much more uncomfortable, the strangest environment.

We recently held our wedding at Ivey Spencer, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The venue itself is stunning, with immaculate grounds that provided the perfect backdrop for our special day.

The food was excellent, exceeding our expectations and delighting our guests. One of the standout aspects of our experience was the incredible event coordinator, Mariolga. She was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout the day, ensuring everything ran smoothly and that all our needs were met.

Our guests thoroughly enjoyed the convenience of having the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all in one place. It made the day seamless and enjoyable for everyone involved.

We couldn't have asked for a better venue for our wedding. Thank you, Ivey Spencer, for making our day so memorable and special.

Amazing Venue

We booked our wedding here and it was perfect. The food was incredible, service was perfect. Such a beatiful location for our wedding. Having the hotel right on spot for our guests made evrything so easy.

Good Food :)

I had my wedding at Ivey Spencer and they were great. The food was amazing, and the space was so large. We really enjoyed having 2 rooms to use so that people could mingle and dance depending on what they wanted. Note they do do alot of weddings and events, so you may not have access to decorate your room until 2pm day of. We didn't know what time we'd have access to the room until the week before the wedding, which made things a little stressful. The rooms were great though, and the guests all had a great time.

Beautiful... but expensive

It was a beautiful wedding! So many picture opportunities! It was fun and planning was easy! Changing last minute details was no problem! Everything was taken care of and well organized. But We also got slapped with a surprise $1000 charge after the wedding. Not sure if i would recommend

Get Married Here!

I got married at Ivey Spencer June 11, 2022, and it was literally picture perfect. The ground were perfectly manicured and maintained, the outdoor tent was grand and classic and the staff, on all levels, were truly fantastic. Laura Bartel was a lifesaver and the best wedding coordinator you could ever ask for. We booked our wedding pre-COVID and so had to deal with a rescheduling and all the uncertainties that came along with it, but with Ivey I didn't have to worry about if our big day was still going to be as we imagined it. I truly cannot think of a negative thing to say about this beautiful venue. If you're considering it, I say you should go for it 100%!

Loved every second

We did our wedding dec 12 and it was an orange zone in Covid. The venue was very understanding of us wanting to get married on that day even with restrictions. They dealt with the changes as they came. They made sure that all of our guests were going to be safe as well as their staff members. We had tables separated by household as well as the ceremony was set up in sections so people were 6feet apart when they were not in the same house. They made it work where my husband and I didn’t have to wear masks when we did our vows and we only wore them walking up and down the aisle. This was so appreciated by both of us. The planner Lina was willing and able to talk to me at any time of the day and was always trying to make things work in our favour so we would have the best experience under such uncertain times. The staff were friendly and the food was incredible. I’ve had many compliments about the venue and food and even though our wedding was only 4 hours long from start to finish it was the best time for us and our guests.

Amazing Wedding Venue

Ivey Spencer is a magical place to get married. There are so many beautiful places to have your photos taken inside and outside the venue. Our wedding photos turned out beautifully. We looked at many venues and the food at Ivey Spencer is the best of all the locations in terms of quality and taste. Working with Caitlin was a dream and she made the planning process so much easier and less stressful for us and she was very helpful the day of our wedding. They are so flexible to make your day extra special. Many guests complimented the venue and the food. We couldn't have chosen a better place to get married!
