TLDR: Venue ruined rehearsal dinner (had a reservation of 20) and showed no remorse or remedy.

Planning a wedding during covid was rough and mine was one of them that had to be postponed. With the challenges that came with having things open and close again we were thrilled when stuff opened back up looking like for good.
My wedding was planned for October 03, 2021 and needed a nice place for a rehearsal dinner and I had a family member stay here and recommended it.
I called the front desk and asked to book and they told me to email the manager Matt Selby. I booked with him in June for 20 people for October 02 at 6pm because I knew it would be hard to get a place any later for that many people in Niagara falls on a Saturday. I confirmed in August and received an email confirmation.
Day arrives and my brother in law calls me and says there is no reservation under my name. I of course am like oh I have an email showing I have one. So I call and the person I speak to says they have no reservation, I tell him I booked with Matt Selby and they said oh he doesn't work here anymore. And I'm like okay, aannnddd? Does that mean you're not honoring any of his reservations? Turns out they say he did not put my reservation into their reservation system (though I am not sure they didn't just delete mine because they wanted to have a group of 70 instead of 20 since there are still capacity limits). Anyways, at this point I have 20 people, all from out of town, including myself, showing up at the restaurant. The guy on the phone went to speak to the manager, he did not let me talk with him, and said there was nothing he could do. The people showing up reserved after I had and still nothing. I asked what we could do since I had 20 hungry people and he just said I don't know. I was so mad my sister in law went into deal with it, I could not come face to face with them. They were unapologetic, offered nothing for recourse (we even asked for a room to order food in because we spent an hour trying to find a new place and of course at 630 pm everything everywhere was full), I still have not heard from the manager, I sent the emails so my sister in law could show him. So as I cried, told everyone to go back to their hotel half an hour away and disband because there was no way I was going to be able to have my rehearsal dinner. Had take out at my hotel instead with 7 people, fast food joints were the only thing open by the time we settled out and got back to the hotel.

Do Not Book Here, I did my due diligence by confirming and the night was ruined.
