Prestige Lakeside Resort Nelson is a waterfront resort venue located in Nelson, British Columbia. Situated on the western arm of Kootenay Lake and surrounded by the dramatic Selkirk Mountains, this venue offers stunning views of the rugged landscape. The scenic backdrop and elegant event spaces, along with the staff’s attentive service make this a wonderful wedding destination.
Facilities and Capacity
This venue boasts several beautiful event spaces for receptions and there a some great choices for outdoor ceremonies within close proximity to the hotel. .The historic wharf beside the hotel is a popular choice as well as the Lakeside Park which is within a short distance. Alternately, there are lovely function rooms within the hotel that provide a refined backdrop for your vows. You can hold your reception in the Grand Ballroom, which features over 4,200 square feet of space. The Ballroom can accommodate 240 guests with banquet-style seating, or up to 420 for a cocktail reception. This room is customizable so you can add your own flair to your event.

Prestige Lakeside Resort Nelson has an on-site event coordinator who can assist in organizing special occasions here. The events team is dedicated to bringing your matrimonial dreams to life and are happy to help in any way they can. A selection of rental items are available for your celebration, and they can provide set-up and clean up services for your convenience. Catering and bar packages are available with a rental of the event space. You can create your personal menu with the assistance of the culinary team.

Really amazing place to have your reception

We had also picked this venue because not only did we really love the view and the rooms we new we could do everything there for a fair price and stay there over night as well. Also my mother in-law was very sick (pancreatic cancer) and we thought it would be easier for her if she didn't have to move around to much.
Unfortunately she didn't make it to our wedding.
She did however got to see my dress and helped plan a bit of it. She was a very lovely Sweet caring person.
The wedding was lovely and just the way we wanted it. Simple but nice. We had only 34 guests.
The hotel was very accommodating and helpful for a few of our guest had some dietary needs due to severe allergies. Dinner was catered by the hotel and everyone of our guests was extremely happy with the food and service.
In the end it was a beautiful day without much stress and in the end the girl cleaned up and put all the items we had brought to decorate with into a box and kept it for us till we were ready to leave.
Thank you so much for making our special day so wonderful.

Meet the team
Loves to sing karaoke / Bridesmaid 8 times / auditioned for Wheel of Fortune / working at mastering the words to Alphabet Aerobics by Blackalicious so I can sing it at karaoke!
I was born in Australia and my first job was as a Legal Secretary where I worked for 10 years before getting the travelling bug. I spent a few years travelling and working in a variety of hospitality jobs including Chalet Host in Chamonix France & Stewardess on a Luxury Motor Yacht in the Mediterranean (P Diddy was on board for a day, but I had no idea it was him until after he left).
After returning to Australia and getting married, my husband and I packed up and left on a working honeymoon holiday to Canada. We have lived in Canada ever since. So, I guess you can say I am still on our honeymoon. Together we have managed various lodges throughout BC including a remote wilderness lodge near Whistler, a Heli-Ski lodge in Terrace, and a snowmobile lodge in Revelstoke.
We then discovered beautiful Nelson and decided this is where we wanted to lay our roots. I started working with the Prestige as a Front Desk Agent and was promoted to the position of Convention Sales Manager. I love being able to combine my passion for the hospitality industry with my administrative background. It is a perfect mix for me.
My favorite thing about working on wedding events is seeing the couples’ vision come together on the wedding day after months of planning. It is very satisfying seeing the couple and all their family and friends having an amazing time and knowing that you played a part in it. I leave work with a buzz every time.
