Lovely responsive team
Anais, Taylor and Rio helped me with my wedding, and I can't thank them enough for the excellent service. Anais mostly dealt with the pre-wedding email onslaught that I sent, she made me feel comfortable asking every little thing and always got back to me with an inappropriate time frame with a helpful answer.
And she actually coordinated with my other vendors for me, such as the photo booth on what time to set up and the DJ on the timeline and events throughout the event.
On the day of Rio treat us like royalty, was so sweet, she made sure we were always happy with timings, brought us plates of appetizers when we were busy mingling, and just really gave us excellent service. I can't say enough about my gratefulness to this team.

Wedding stay
We stayed and got ready here for our wedding. When booking we were under the impression that the getting ready spaces were included in our package but later through emailing trying to confirm details found out that the spaces for bridesmaids/groomsmen are not included in the package and have to be booked and paid on top of your wedding package. They did say I wasn’t the first person to think this so maybe communication is a bit unclear there. The room itself was good, clean standard hotel. Breakfast in the morning was alright. Aside from some miscommunication our stay was good.We stayed and got ready here for our wedding. Stellar Service!!
I’m not sure where to start!! We are so blown away and extremely grateful and thankful that we chose Rivers Edge at The Arlington for our wedding venue!! Anais was our event coordinator and made our day absolutely perfect! She went above and beyond to ensure it was everything we ever dreamt of! And it was that plus so much more! She was extremely friendly, so easy to communicate with and does her job unbelievably well! We can’t thank her enough for all of her hard work, dedication and time she put in to make our day perfect in every way!! Rio was our Maître d and helped make our evening perfect as well! We can’t thank them both enough! The wait staff and bartenders were phenomenal as well as all of the people with dealt with at the desk at Arlington Hotel! Overall, we are extremely pleased with our choice of venue!I’m not sure where to start!! Best Wedding Ever!!!!
Our daughter and our son-in-law, had an incredible wedding at the River's Edge in Paris, Ontario last month; July 2023. From the moment we met Sabrina (the event planner) and front desk staff at the Arlington Hotel; we were so happy. The rooms were all special themes; unlike any other Hotel we had stayed at before. The staff were great - Kenzie and Sam to name a few, went out of their way to get us what we needed including umbrellas when we had to cross the street to the River's Edge for the dress rehearsal, during a rain storm...The rehearsal party on the night before was beautifully run by Phil in a special private room for us catered by the hotel and the food was awesome. The day of the wedding, the rooms was set up perfect and Sabina was there to make sure every detail was looked after. The chef and serving staff made sure the food was hot and presented very well. Ethan would be ready with drinks anytime guests came to the bar, knowing what they wanted to drink and Annalise too and Phil.
Everyone did a great job and there was a nice continental breakfast served both mornings for us. Thanks to Ellen - the manager and the chef and all the other people I didn't get their names for making this the most memorable wedding for us.Our daughter and our son-in-law, had an incredible wedding at the River's Edge in Paris, Ontario last month; July 2023. July 2023 Wedding
Our wedding at River’s Edge was exactly what we had hoped for. We knew when we toured the space the first time and met the event coordinator, Sabrina, we knew that we were going to be well taken care of and that the weekend would be everything we dreamed of. The hotel is a beautiful, quaint place with attentive and caring staff, who not only helped the weekend of the wedding but fielded many questions and bookings from our guests. We stayed in the Jane Austen suite for our weekend and it was perfect for pictures before. All the hotel rooms are themed with a writer so it made for great conversation with the guests. The library bar and event space in the hotel gave our guests a place to have a drink and a delicious snack. We had our rehearsal dinner on the patio the night before and organized it with the event manager Brittany. The venue and cocktail space itself is stunning, outlooking the river and has everything you need for a successful event. The event staff, including the maître d and chef were extremely accommodating and helpful. Food and bar were amazing. Our guests had nothing but praises for the space, the town and the people who were there. The in house coordinator Sabrina is exactly who you need to help you plan a wedding. June wedding
TLDR- Our wedding was great, but the overall experience left something to be desired.
Our wedding day was lovely. Service and food were fabulous, and the staff were kind and organized. The Maitre-D was good and made us feel supported throughout the reception. The views from the floor to ceiling windows in the space are stunning and it’s the perfect backdrop for a wedding or other event. Also, the venue is reasonably priced in today’s wedding market which is always a plus.
On the day of the wedding, the groom and the groomsmen were supposed to get ready in a room we had rented for $250.00. This room was somehow double booked. The staff acted quickly to give us a different room. We were pleased with their swift action to resolve the issue day of.
Unfortunately, we were unhappy with our overall experience for a few reasons.
Due to the coordinator taking a planned month off, we were unable to have a menu tasting until long after invitations had to be sent. This meant we had to select our main course choices without getting to try the options. The coordinator even said to us “invitations should be going out now” while explaining that we couldn’t have a tasting for another month. We were disappointed in this and felt it was a lack of planning on River’s Edge/ Arlington Hotel’s part. There should have been a plan in place to ensure all couples had this very standard experience with the right timing.
During a site visit a few months before the wedding, we had asked about cards that we saw sitting on the bar. The coordinator explained that they were review cards, placed on the tables during dessert for guests to review the venue and this information is linked to staff performance. We asked that these cards not be placed on the tables as we didn’t want our guests to focus on/ feel pressure to review the staff when they should be enjoying our wedding. This was explained to the coordinator multiple times. While we completely understand the importance of reviews, a wedding reception is not the time or place. We were told the cards would not be placed on the tables. Day of our wedding during dessert, what was on every single guest table? Review cards. We were busy and did not notice until closer to the end of the night. We understand mistakes happen, but we were very clear about how much this mattered to us. These review cards were never disclosed to us. We only found out after stumbling upon them and specifically asking. Multiple other seasoned wedding vendors assured us that asking guests to review the experience DURING the wedding was an inappropriate ask. We feel they should be more transparent about this and honour the wishes of the couple.
During a planning meeting, the coordinator asked us for our photographer’s contact information so she could “get all of our photos”. Our original contract indicated that we did not want our photos to be shared with the venue for purposes of posting on social media/ for advertising. While we were on our honeymoon, the coordinator reached out to our photographer to ask for our photos, without our permission. Luckily our photographer was great, did not release our photos and ensured we were aware.
The coordinator informed us they would reach out the week after the wedding to ensure we enjoyed our experience, seek feedback and request a review. To this day, we haven’t heard anything from River’s Edge (wedding was 2 months ago).
We understand that the venue changed hands prior to our wedding. However, Carmen’s group took ownership, a well-established company based out of Hamilton, so we expected better.
Overall, we wouldn’t change our choice to get married here due to the beautiful space, great food and service from the day of staff. Our main issues were with the River’s Edge coordinator and how that shaped our experience.

Over and Above what was expected
The Arlington Hotel was amazing to work with, especially during COVID. They were understanding and flexible with postponing our wedding, helped keep our wedding within our budget and even covered our guests room at the Hotel as they noticed 6 of our guests couldn't make it due to COVID which was such a nice surprise. Katy was very detail oriented and made sure our day was perfect! The wait staff during the event needed direction but overall it was the best day!The Arlington Hotel was amazing to work with, especially during COVID. The team at the Arlington are absolutely phenomenal! Every detail we wanted was there, if they couldn’t give us an answer on the spot they went and found the answer! Arlington hotel
We recently got married at the Arlington Hotel in Paris. We had the best day! All of the quirky hotel rooms really impressed us as well as our guests! We had postponed our wedding 1 year with no issues whatsoever. The catering team were very accommodating with the multiple food allergies amongst our guests. It was the perfect size venue for a smaller wedding. Communication with our sales manager was consistent and professional. We would definitely recommend getting married at the Arlington! We recently got married at the Arlington Hotel in Paris. We had the best day!
