There are 4 different types of accommodation provided by The Northridge Inn & Resort. These include:

  • Four (4) Private chalets complete with full kitchen (decked out with everything from champagne flutes to lemon zesters to bodum coffee presses), living and dining area with wood-burning fire place. They have 2 bedrooms and can sleep 5 guests in beds- 1 king, 1 queen and 1 twin bed. They have a deck and seating area (on the deck) and coal burning BBQ and private hot tub (which can be set up for an additional $100 for the duration of your stay).
  • Sixteen (16) Lodge Suites which have 2 queen beds and can sleep up to 2 couples. They have a seating area in front of a wood-burning fireplace. They come equipped with a bar fridge, coffee maker and kettle.
  • Four (4) King Suites which have 1 king bed and can sleep one couple. They have a seating area in front of a wood-burning fireplace. They come equipped with a bar fridge, coffee maker and kettle
  • Four (4) Glamping Tents have either a King Bed or 2 Queen beds (just one tent has 2 queen beds), solar power, seating area looking out over the lake, chandeliers, armoires, tables, coffee maker and lots of other fun decor (or Chochka as we call it!), and are nestled into the woods or pour out onto the beach.
  • One (1) Vintage Airstream - and it's amazing! It's a vintage airstream with a double bed, mini kitchen, bathroom with shower and seating booth which also folds out into a bed. It's great for accommodating a couple with 2 small kids or to even be used as the Honeymoon suite. It has the absolute best view of the lake and was featured in Cottage Life magazine in the Summer 2017 issue as one of the most unique accommodations in Ontario.

A Cozy Escape in Beautiful Cottage Country

The Northridge Inn was basically my dream venue. Aesthetically, it’s quirky and cool. The airstream trailer on the shoreline is just the beginning. The whole place is styled to perfection. The venue was flexible when i changed the location of the ceremony last minute. The day of the wedding, staff on site were wonderful and cheerful to be around. If you loved the movie Dirty Dancing growing up, this is the place for you.

Mismanaged COVID Response

I would not recommend Northridge for your wedding. My fiancé and I were supposed to get married at Northridge in August 2020. They really mismanaged their response to COVID with people who were supposed to get married there in 2020 - we felt they took advantage of couples they knew were locked into a wedding with hefty non-refundable deposits already paid. They reached out to us early May with a proposal: we could choose to forego our date in 2020 and reserve a new date in 2021 before they heard what the government pandemic restrictions would be in August for a $5,000 postponement fee. The fee would be credited to our 2021 wedding if by the time our original August 2020 date came around there were government restrictions in place preventing large social gatherings, BUT if social gatherings of at least 50 people were permitted (notwithstanding that our wedding was for over 100 guests and we were required to book out the entire resort for the weekend which accommodates much more than 50 ppl) then the $5K would just be an additional fee tacked on our invoice. We could tentatively reserve a new date, but they would give it away to any new couple that approached them to have a wedding on that date. They also said they may not be able to let us know whether our wedding would be cancelled or not until as late as 2 weeks before the wedding if we decided not to pursue the postponement option, which would have been pretty tough with guests travelling from out of country. I can't confirm, but our impression was that they were prioritizing new bookings for 2021 and were giving new couples preference over available weekends (e.g. the original list of open dates they provided us for 2021 were only during early Spring and late Fall when the resort is normally not even hosting weddings because it's off-season and when we told them we were disappointed with the available dates they said a new couple was considering a date in August 2021 and they would let us know whether they decided to move forward with it; a couple months later when we pushed them again there happened to be early September dates available). We were not willing to pay an additional $5K for what we felt was an unethical proposal, so we continued to push them to provide reasonable notice as to whether our original wedding plans could proceed. When they let us know in July that the August 2020 date would be postponed and agreed to offer us a new date in 2021, we thought hard about it and decided we wanted to cancel. We found the experience with them really stressful and we weren't looking forward to having the wedding there anymore. We knew that we wouldn't get our entire nearly $10K deposit back, but asked whether they would be willing to return a portion of it and proposed that they could keep the full deposit until they had locked down a new wedding for the 2021 date they had offered us and received a new deposit for that date. Notwithstanding that they had not done any work for our wedding at that point (other than Dulcie kindly setting up the room reservation system for our guests), they refused. They offered to give us a gift certificate for an undetermined amount at an undetermined date in the future - unsurprisingly we have heard nothing further from them on this. On top of keeping our full deposit, they also were able to rent out the resort for the weekend of our original wedding. Based on Instagram posts, it appears that they hosted an event that weekend. We appreciate that this has been a really precarious time for small businesses, but there was no effort made by the resort to engage with us or try to work through a situation that was challenging for everyone involved - we didn't hear from the owners once throughout the entire process other than to respond to our email declining to refund any amount of our deposit and we had to play broken telephone with the wedding coordinator who never had all the facts and was indifferent towards us. We decided to elope instead and couldn't be happier with our choice!!

If you told me just five years ago that I would own a resort, I would have told you that you were crazy! Yet here I am in a world completely different than that I used to know. Owning The Northridge has required me to learn to balance my life as when I’m not at the resort I’m running my company Judyinc, Canada’s larges fashion and beauty agency. In one day I’ll go from picking fashion shots for Elle magazine to choosing our next hors d’oeuvres for the weekend. From high-fashion to horse-shoes and beauty-covers to cover-alls. It’s insane and I love it. We here at The Northridge have made it our goal to marry these worlds together to create an amazing boutique hotel and wedding destination. Thank you for choosing us for your getaway and we sincerely wish you a lovely holiday!

I was born and raised on the great Alberta prairies. A cowboy at heart I decided to adventure around the world working as a singer and performer. I had the chance to see all those “must see” places but still my heart drew me back to this amazing place, Ontario. Singing wasn’t enough so I also worked in decor, construction, floral design, gardening and wedding planning. All these fun skills have now come together as David and I are creating our cottage style resort. We have a very simple philosophy when it comes to the Northridge and that is to make it feel like you are at our cottage. No corporate jingles here! Although I really do love a good jingle. One more thing I must share is my love for chickens! Just ask me about my chickens… I DARE you! Enjoy your stay!
