Romantic, Beautiful & Stunning
I just had my wedding here 12 days ago. The venue is beautiful itself so I didn’t have to go crazy with decor. I loved my wedding. It was during the week during brunch & all of my guests had a blast! Recommend this venue 100%. It’s super romantic and beautiful.I just had my wedding here 12 days ago. The venue is beautiful itself so I didn’t have to go crazy with decor. I loved my wedding. Spend your money elsewhere
I am extremely disappointed with GHM. I submitted a form online that indicated the size of our party and yet, after 30 emails and an entire MONTH of back and forth communication they told me this week they couldn’t accommodate our wedding because we didn’t have enough guests. This was something they could have told us from the start, since we provided them this information.
Early on they told us the date we wanted was available. To which I asked “how can we proceed to book this and put a deposit down?” After over a week of attempting to pull information out of them we asked for a call. We finally had our call, and were informed they booked another event on the date we wanted. We asked what other dates they had available and they told us September 6th. We wanted a guarantee this time that they wouldn’t give our date away as we were obviously serious and basically begging them to take our money at this point. We booked a tour of the facility for a Monday, however on the Friday close to the end of the business day they informed us they booked an event on the Monday and had to cancel our tour. Absolutely no response or care in the world on their end to try and reschedule with us. They don’t care about your time or your event whatsoever.
We lost an entire month of planning our wedding because of their incompetence. We explained how unhappy we were and their only resolution was “sorry for the inconvenience” and they didn’t respond after this. This is not professional and I expected so much more from GHM. Considering they market themselves as a luxury venue they should be deeply embarrassed by their ineptness. The gardens and venue are gorgeous, no doubt, but the way they treat potential paying customers is disgusting. As we already told them - thank you for less than nothing.I am extremely disappointed with GHM. Euch! What a terrible experience you had, at the hands of Graydon Hall Manor. I am so deeply sorry for the whole experience and for wasting your time. That, of course, was not intentional.
The Sales Coordinator you were communicating with is (obviously) quite new as a result of the many lay-offs and new hires required as a result the pandemic. You have revealed a gap in our training as we simply don’t train our staff to take calls for 11 guests. In the months that our Sales Coordinator has been with Graydon Hall, he has not encountered such a request. Lesson learned - I'm only sorry it was at your expense.
We sincerely do hope you find the perfect venue to host your intimate celebration. Please feel free to call me if you wish to further discuss your terrible experience.
Warmest regards,

Amazing wait staff
We booked Graydon Hall Manor back in 2019 because it fit my vision of a fairytale wedding but unfortunately with COVID, there were bumps in the road which changed my opinion of Graydon but luckily, our wedding still ended successfully as Graydon managed to make up for it with their amazing waitstaff. Our COVID experience with Graydon was definitely less than desirable because we changed event coordinators 3 times and finally, the last one was the most professional and addressed our concerns which have been lingering since 2021. There was a lot of misunderstandings and confusion back and forth but I'm glad that they were all resolved in the end. A big thank you to Rebecca for assisting us with a wonderful execution of the wedding. Thank you to Mango and James for leading the team and providing impeccable service to our guests. Hi Grace,
Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We value the time you took to write this as we always strive to provide excellent customer service. We understand your frustration in having to change Event Managers; it is our goal to have clients work with one Event Manager throughout their booking, planning, and execution process, although this isn’t always possible. Unfortunately due to the pandemic and constant lockdowns imposed on event venues, GHM had to furlough many team members and keep on only a small number of employees before being able to rehire again.
This pandemic has been very difficult for everyone including our clients and employees, but we are thrilled to hear that you still had a wonderful experience on your wedding day and GHM was able to deliver impeccable service to you and your guests!
We thank you again for entrusting Graydon with your special day!

Disappointing and Frustrating
The venue is gorgeous and the waitstaff were amazing but the management team made the experience of planning a wedding unreasonably stressful. Responses to emails were slow and confusing. Specific and direct questions were left unanswered and details that seemed part of the original quoted price were additional charges.. You will be told everything will be fine even when it does not match your vision at all - it's frustrating. Throughout the process I didn’t feel like I was being listened to or heard. I will say in the end, my wedding was beautiful and my guests had a wonderful time, but I don’t think I’d host an event here again.
The manager did call me after hearing how disappointed I was with the experience and let me voice my frustrations, which was appreciated.

Graydon Hall Manor's reply:
Hi Amy,
Thank you so much for your feedback. I am so sorry that you found the planning process stressful. Our whole event management team loves what they do and we really do aim to make the planning of your wedding fun and stress free. I can't help but think that having 3 weeks to plan your whole wedding (2 of which were during COVID lock-downs where we were prohibited from meeting with you in person) didn't help much. We usually meet our clients more than a year before their wedding day and have the luxury of lots more time on our hands. I am thrilled that the day itself was beautiful and your guests had a wonderful time. We will work hard to make the planning more seamless for all of our clients in the future. We wish you both every blessing.

Since stage 3 reopening, updated information for a wedding ceremony and reception in 2022 and why we won't be getting married at Graydon Hall
Note: Be prepared to book a year or more in advance, our preferred date in February 2022 (off-peak season) was just booked 7 months in advance by another couple.
First of all, I'd like to say that the GHM is one of the most beautiful, vintage luxury sites in Toronto. This was my number one choice for a venue in the city because of the romantic backdrops, the antique look of the place and the amenities: bridal suite and groom suite, many rooms and a stunning hall, lower lounge, terrace/fountain etc.
Since stage 3 reopening in Ontario, places started to allow site tours while wearing a mask. When I reached out a week ago, one of the event managers, Lisa, replied back the very next day and I was impressed with the information that I was given in such a timely manner.
The breakdown is a lot cheaper for off peak season (November-April) and there's no minimum spending. Manor rental, ceremony in the carriage house and use of the cocktail lounge during off peak season is approximately $8000, if you're getting married on peak season, minimum spending ranges between $10,000-$35,000 depending on the day of the week.
The average budget for my guest count of 60 was approximately $220 a person +HST and 20% service charge and that included:
Manor rental fee
On-site ceremony
In-house chairs and tables, place settings, and over 300 table-linens to select from
Cocktail hour with signature drinks and hors d’oeuvres
Three-course dinner
Standard bar package
Red and White wine
Your own Event Manager to help you with planning and day-of coordination
Our guest count was 60; so about $18,000 after tax and service charge which we felt was reasonable for what was offered. Their Lovely little wedding package is very affordable for just a ceremony (this is only $800 for a 2 hour rental, $400 for each additional hour but there are a ton of restrictions on services offered).
Our event manager said the site tours were booked for weeks and suggested we could do a self-guided tour and then have a follow-up afterwards in order to book the space. Lisa met us at the door and was super friendly and welcoming although she had other couples she was doing tours with at the time.
Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there, from dusty looking sun damaged purple chairs, to stained coffee tables, to the worse being how we were treated by the housekeeping staff. They were questioning why we were there and didn't stop interfering with our visit even after another event manager confirmed we were on a self-guided tour. It seemed everywhere we went, they followed. It would be comical if it weren't for the awkwardness and tension we felt in the entire space. It was like they didn't trust us and were keeping tabs on us, for example, if I opened a closet door, they would come back and check that everything was in it's place right after. When we went outside, there was a couple being photographed and we were aware of not being in the background, but the housekeeping staff felt they needed to remind us that the area where the couple was, was off limits and that they had paid to be there (unlike us-was implied). We absolutely loved the look of the cocktail lounge and how cool it was temperature wise. We were sitting there cooling off when the housekeeping staff came downstairs, shut off one of the lights nearby and went back upstairs, I took a picture of the area without the light on after they left (it's the first one).
I told Lisa about our experience and how it really impacted our wish to get married there. The housekeeping staff would be there during the set up and take down of the wedding, but even if we were willing to look past this, I was informed that the date I had requested had just been booked by another couple. It was apparently on reserve, and it would have saved us time, money (transport) and embarrassment if we knew that that date was in the process of already being booked before arranging a tour. Hopefully any future couples considering this location learn from our mistakes - don't go on the self guided tour, unless you are absolutely sure you want this venue and you are not flexible with your date.Note: Be prepared to book a year or more in advance, our preferred date in February 2022 (off-peak season) was just booked 7 months in advance by another couple.

Graydon Hall Manor's reply:
Tia,
Thank you so much for your valuable feed-back. I wish I could explain the experience you had… I can’t imagine why our custodians would have behaved in such a manner as they are trusted and much loved members of our team who have been with us for over 21 years. I can only apologize on their behalf. I am so sorry for the experience you had.
We have also taken your review to heart and have stopped offering self-guided tours. We had never offered them before and we have only been offering them for a week or two as our Event Managers are overwhelmed with new inquiries and they are fully booked many weeks in advance with scheduled tours. We were trying to accommodate clients desperate to see the space. We have learned quickly that the manor is simply too large and our clients have too many questions to make self-guided tours a reasonable option, even under desperate situations. As your photos illustrate, clients on self-guided tours even make their way into back-of-house / staff-only areas. Yikes!!
Finally, the purple chairs are in an ombre fabric - they aren’t sun bleached at all. You will notice that the fabric fades differently on every chair, quite deliberately. The décor was meant to be whimsical and playful rather than stuffy. Our design fail has been duly noted.
Thank you again for your valuable feedback. It’s how we grow.
We wish you every blessing with your February wedding.
Kindest regards,
Nicole Pieckenhagen, Director -

Not much more I can say about the beauty of Graydon Hall Manor that others have not already mentioned. I had my wedding ceremony at Graydon Hall Manor during the COVID-19 pandemic and was able to take advantage of the Lovely Little Wedding package which was priced quite reasonably compared to their usual non-pandemic pricing. I communicated only with Marisa during this time and she was EXCELLENT. She was extremely responsive and was able to arrange everything that I needed. Unfortunately, because of government restrictions at the time, no circulating food or drink could be served during our time there. However, I have been to Graydon Hall Manor for other weddings before and recall their food as being exceptional every time with amazing service. On the day of my wedding, everything went perfectly. For any other couples looking to book a small wedding ceremony during the pandemic, look no further! Not much more I can say about the beauty of Graydon Hall Manor that others have not already mentioned. The most incredible venue!
We could not of imagined our wedding anywhere else. GHM exudes luxury, tradition and class. Each room you walk into makes you feel as if you were in a fairy tale. Everyone who worked with us and for our day were incredible; the service - absolutely no where touches the level of service GHM produces. Our guests are still drooling over the meals we had. The Chef is phenomenal!! Service was so amazing - every table was serviced within 5 min for each meal and everyone was eating together. We had a change of guests and they accommodated the children meals. Any concerns that came up were dealt with in the utmost of professionalism and not once were my husband and I bothered during the day with any details. The staff were professional and so classy - accommodating and friendly. Lucy and our Planner worked seamlessly together to create the most magical night. Lucy was our planner via GHM; she was amazing! Ensured all our needs were met for the day. I wasn't feeling too well after the ceremony and they catered to me and brought me a specially made ginger tea and some warm delicious bread. If you do anything, please go and see the venue, meet the staff and just trust that they will give you a night you will cherish for years to come.We could not of imagined our wedding anywhere else.
