Overall, a great fit for our wedding

We had our wedding in the smaller event space available at Glenerin (Evan's Room + patio). It was a perfect space fit for our 45 guests, and fit well for our elevated but relaxed vibe. Our wedding went incredibly well and there were a ton of positives about Glenerin. While nothing ended up taking away from a perfect day for us, there are also a couple considerations I want to callout for those that are considering Glenerin.
In terms of pros, the value is great. Pricing is extremely transparent, and they are willing to answer all your questions as you are considering venues. The staff are incredibly kind, and the space itself is beautiful for an elevated yet laid back event. The food was amazing, both in terms of portion size as well as taste. They were also very accommodating with dietary restrictions, which was great. It's really nice to be able to give your guests the option to stay the night after your wedding on site, but it's also easy to transit close-by so everyone gets home safely. It was also a game changer that we could stay there the night before and after, helping us be more relaxed! Unfortunately it unexpectedly rained so we couldn't do the ceremony on the patio, however it is a great space and the Glenerin team was very helpful with helping us to pivot last minute, and the indoor space was still perfect. The staff that worked with us on the day was detail oriented, helpful, and kind to our guests. Overall, our event was executed how we imagined and we had a perfect day.
Considerations:
- Early space access: We were lucky that there was no event earlier in the day (there is only 1 wedding per day, but can be other smaller functions), so we were able to get in early to setup. That said, we only found that out ~1 week before the event, and if you have any evening wedding/event, the guarantee for us was only that we could have access a couple hours before our ceremony started. Our coordinator and ourselves were a little worried about that possibility but it all worked out really well for us. Booking a room the night before was also incredibly helpful so we had everything there. Glenerin was super transparent about this and set expectations well - It's easy to work around but I recommend asking and having a good plan for setup!
- I think the biggest consideration is that the team you talk to about the event before your wedding day is not the team that is there on the actual day. This ended up creating a few minor hiccups for us. Again, it didn't take away from our day but is worth knowing. A few examples are that we asked if we could do plate smashing outside in a metal bin (tradition) and we asked well in advance - we knew we would have to modify this and understood if we couldn't. The manager gave us the OK and listed the conditions, which we adhered to. That said, when we started setting it up on the day, they came over and said absolutely no, we could not do that now that they see it. Another example is that in our meeting about a month before the wedding we went over how we would like the room adjusted when we transition from dinner to dancing. We went through a whole plan in the space, then when the time came, the day of team said they couldn't do what we planned and had to do it another way which we needed to talk through in the moment. Lastly, another example was, that we had slightly revised the schedule 2 weeks prior to the event, that the staff the night-of did not have. They approached us to confirm everything right as we came out to greet our guests after the ceremony. Something I wish would have been done earlier or directed to our setup team that was there for questions just like that.
I want to be clear that the day of team was incredibly nice, organized, and helpful, but I think inevitably those aren't the folks you talk to in advance so we needed to communicate with them a bit more than we hoped to have to throughout the evening. We also noticed that even though we had a wedding coordinator they were aware of, they tended to come ask us directly.
- I don't necessarily think this is anyone's fault, but I wanted to mention - we had our wedding on a Friday evening, and there was another wedding at ~10am the next morning. While this is understandable given it is an event space, it did impact us and our guests more than we would have hoped (we were aware there was a Saturday wedding and didn't ask about the schedule, but I wish we did or were told). Ourselves and quite a few of our guests spent the night, and our guests were telling us the next day that they were all woken up by 7:30am and barely got any sleep. Starting at 7am, the hotel was busy and loud for setup for the next wedding. There were trucks outside the window with deliveries, people hanging out in hallways and opening/closing doors, people running all over the place for setup between rooms and the event space that could be heard from our rooms.

Loved this venue for our wedding!

We had a beautiful wedding at the Glenerin Inn. Would definitely recommend. Only reasons I gave a 4 star is because we had some minor issues which we were credited for. They do need to look into fixing some things in the guest suites though. Our door did not lock. The door handle tongue didn’t line up with the hole, we had to lift the door (my husband- as I was not strong enough to lift it up). We also had an issue with a party not leaving the reception/dining room so we could set up our reception hall. They were supposed to be out at 3, we told the venue this and they didn’t remove them from the room. The previous party didn’t leave until 3:45, so we had 15 minutes to set up our entire reception area. So the decor wasn’t as perfect as I would have liked, and some things were left out because lack of time. And we felt extremely rushed which caused me, the bride, a lot more stress than needed. The venue is beautiful. I love the rustic country aesthetic! The manager, Faye, was so amazing to work with. She helped us with all of our issues and was so flexible. We had to bring our two kids (2 under 2) to the tasting, and they gave the toddler some pasta to taste as well, which was so sweet).

Best Inn Ever

I booked the Glenerin Inn and Spa for my sister-in-law and it has been a complete pleasure to see the beauty, the professionalism and the care they have provided. They have created an ideal and aesthetic venue for a variety of functions. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
I would personally like to thank Norman for his assistance in making my sister-in-law’s stay a truly memorable experience.

Venue that provided me a dream wedding

Situated conveniently within a city, but has a quaint charm that feels like I'm away from the city, the venue has both rustic and modern vibe. On the wedding day, it looked even more phenomenal with the flowers and decors. I was truly able to have a dream wedding at Glenerin Inn.
Not only was the venue beautiful, but all the staff were kind, eager to help, and willing to accommodate our requests. The three representatives who I communicated with the most (Maurizio, Faye, Norman) went above and beyond to ensure that my special day went well.
My husband and I are immensely grateful for the memories created at Glenerin Inm, and we will cherish them for a lifetime.

Started off slow...

As we were planning where to have our small and intimate wedding venue, we were able to visit The Glen Erin Inn by recommendation of a friend. As soon as we stepped inside the Inn, we knew that it would be the perfect venue.
The Inn itself is tucked away and likely might not be noticed as it is so beautiful and quaint inside and out.
We met with Maurizio who was professional, knowledgeable and very easy to work with.
Fast forward to the day of our wedding, the room we had chosen for our ceremony was absolutely beautiful as we used one of their recommended vendors to supply chair covers and lanterns. The room was absolutely beautiful!!
The same recommended vendor provided the chair covers for the dinner space and with the table settings and flowers it was magical.
Working with Randy in catering was a dream come true. Randy and his staff including a wonderful young lady named Alice were so attentive to our needs and requirements and made the entire evening perfect! Cannot thank Randy and his staff enough for their professionalism and guidance throughout.
We went with a recommended DJ Service as well and let me tell you with a mixed aged group of guests attending, the DJ could totally feel the vibe and provided music to which guests were up dancing all night.
For one stop planning, visit with the Glen Erin Inn. Give them your ideas and they will help you plan your event and make it the best experience for you and your guests.
100% recommend!!

Fabulous party venue and accommodations

I confirmed my future daughter in laws Bridal Shower at the Glenerin inn, in the Evan’s room ( dining room). Gorgeous lighting, decor, natural lighting, windows, space for 40-50 people and includes a patio.
I first worked with Maurizio, and he is very respectful and accommodating, to set the date and which room is best suited for the event.
I was then in contact with Faye from catering, who was also very accommodating and always responded quickly to my many questions and last minute changes.
The day of my event, my contact was Randy in catering, who was very attentive and made sure the luncheon event went so smoothly. Even later in the evening when we were in the bar for dinner, Randy was still checking in on us. We were all very impressed with Randy!
I was very happy hosting my event at the Glenerin Inn and should I host another event I will not hesitate to go there again.
We stayed in 3 Luxury suites later that evening and we were all very happy with the decor and attention to detail. But most of all the small comfortable sitting areas in our room, so we could chat all together in one room.
The other staff in general was very attentive and accommodating including Nick as a server as well as Jason in the bar.
Thank you for an awesome event!

Hidden Gem!

The Glenerin Inn was the perfect spot for our wedding. We had 80 guests, so the size was perfect for this venue - the outside reception was beautiful and the building is full of old charm and character. The team was great about answering all of our questions, and the manager working the night of our wedding was outstanding (thank you again Bryan!). We wanted the feeling of being outside the city without making our guests travel, and this place delivered!

Perfect wedding at a charming historic inn

We just had our wedding at the Glenerin Inn and Spa and it was a dream come true. The reception hall, dance room, hotel rooms for getting ready, ceremony deck and photography grounds made our wedding perfect. The charm is breath-taking and the staff is incredibly helpful. I can't recommend them enough. Only thing I would say to be aware of is that there are some miscommunications and disconnect between hotel bookings and wedding bookings, so just double check they align.

The Glenerin Inn went above and beyond to help us host the perfect wedding!

Where do we even begin? From the first day we even contacted the Glenerin Inn to set up a consultation, Maurizo and Faye have been nothing but supportive and worked tirelessly to make our wedding vision a reality for us. Having seen this process through to the end, we can honestly say our wedding turned out absolutely perfect, and so much of this was because of them.

When we initially set up our consultation to view the grounds, etc. they were super up front about the costs, and how it would work better for our budget to have an off season wedding if we weren’t set on a particular date. We looked at a couple other venues but nothing was as cozy or as inclusive as the Glenerin Inn seemed to be at that time (over 2 years ago!). We decided the Glenerin Inn was the perfect spot for our intimate wedding. We only had 50 people so we decided to have both our ceremony and our reception in the Evans Room to keep the feeling more cozy. Of course, logistically this took a little more planning to make sure that the day went smoothly with the room turnaround during the cocktail hour. Throughout the entire planning process, they allowed us to come look at the venue whenever we wanted to — to take measurements of the room, to see how the room would be set up for our ceremony and for our reception, etc. Every email we sent them, no matter how small the question, was always responded to within 24 hours and they always gave us a detailed answer which helped relieve us of so much stress during the planning process, knowing that Faye and Maurizio were in our corner.

As the wedding date approached, Faye sat down with us in person to walk us through how the day would and told us about all the things that we would need to think about regarding the smaller details — decor, table linen colours, etc. They were super flexible with all of our requests too. For example we wanted to line the aisle with flower petals, and they gave us many ideas on how to prepare them for easy removal, or if we preferred we could just leave them scattered around the room during our reception. They were above and beyond accommodating for our guests as well to ensure everyone attending our wedding would enjoy the experience as much as we did. They willingly catered to food allergies and requests, including gluten free options, vegan options, and allergy awareness. One of my guests who is allergic to sunflower seeds told me after dinner that she had asked if the bread rolls had been in contact with the allergen. My guest was very impressed that the staff took the entire basket away and promptly returned with a new basket of plain white rolls for that table to accommodate her allergy. This made us super happy to hear because not only were they accommodating of our requests, but also of our guests, even last minute ones like that.

The venue itself is clean, organized, and super cozy. We brought all our decorations the night before the wedding so we wouldn’t forget anything. They allowed us to store any heavy items in a secure locked room so that when it came time to set up, everything would be in one spot ready to go. We had planned to help them set up the venue but were pleasantly surprised that the staff took care of everything and we didn’t have to lift a finger. Everything looked absolutely perfect and we could not have done a better job ourselves. This allowed us to mingle with our guests more and took a lot of hassle off of our plates so we weren’t stressing about minor things like that. They turned the room around efficiently during the cocktail hour so it was ready for dinner service, and once again they absolutely nailed the decor and was exactly how we imagined it. They even took care of all the cleaning at the end of the night for us as well so we could say goodbye to our guests and allowed us the chance to relax a bit as well.

Maurizio was on site throughout the entire duration of our wedding event and we have to give him a super huge shout out! He was absolutely awesome! He was super attentive, available all evening for us if we had any little things to ask or mention, was super friendly and helpful to our guests, and was consistently checking in for our feedback on things throughout the night to make sure that our wedding went exactly how we wanted it to. The staff that worked the night of our wedding were also super friendly and accommodating as well. The staff of the Glenerin Inn truly went out of their way to make our wedding an absolutely spectacular and magical night. Our wedding was truly perfect thanks to the Glenerin Inn. Thank you!

Beautiful Venue and overall worth it

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at this venue including an out of towner's brunch the following morning. The venue is beautiful and we wouldn't have asked for a nicer space. The person we were in contact with the most Faye did a good job of making sure all our questions were answered promptly and did her best to accommodate any wishes we did have. The individual coordinating the wedding on the day of did a good job of making sure everything went smoothly. We enjoyed ourselves that night however there were some challenges in working with the venue that we think others should be aware of going forward. First off the venue would not assist in moving chairs that were not their own or if they had chair covers on them. We had rented chavari chairs as we did not like the look of their standard chair. Because they wouldn't move them we had to find a chair vendor who was willing to stay and flip the chairs from the ceremony space to the reception space which ended up costing additional money. Second we were told at our last in person meeting (about a month before our wedding) that there would be another event happening in our ceremony space until 3pm. Our ceremony was set to start at 5 and guests would be arriving before then. This gave us only 1.5 hours to get our ceremony space ready with all our chairs and flowers. This was not enough time. They didn't give us any warning that they would have an event there that same day that close to our start time. We were also told it was a baby shower when in fact it was another wedding and therefore was challenging to get people out of the room to set everything up. We had to hire additional staff to meet this tight window of set up. Due to the tight time we ended up delaying our start time. Though there were these challenges we got rave review on how good the food was and how beautiful the venue was. The staff did a great job however our wedding planning said that she was constantly assisting the staff with cleaning up so I am unsure how much they were able to handle our party of 96 without this additional assistance. Overall we had a great wedding and thank everyone for all their hard work.
