My partner and I were engaged in June 2021, and we decided we wanted to take advantage of being able to host a COVID wedding in the backyard - small, intimate, with only our closest family and friends. That meant we would need to organize a wedding before the end of the summer, giving us only a few months to plan, organize, and execute a backyard wedding.
We were skeptical at first, trying to find the person on an online wedding hub to legally perform the service of marrying us together - it was the single most important moment of our wedding, and we would be finding this person online. We saw "Intimate Backyard Wedding" and we decided to reach out. WeddingWire has this option of sending messages to other vendors after sending out the initial one, so we decided to agree to send out requests to other similar vendors too. Despite all the other replies that we received, we went with our intuition and stuck with Intimate Backyard Weddings: the comfort and the feeling from just a few short messages from Pastor Bill just clicked with us - you could say it was love at first sight!
What can we say, Pastor Bill is absolutely amazing. From engagement to wedding, we had three months, and we didn't reach out to Pastor Bill until two months out, so it was a really short timeline to get to know us, and to help us write wedding vows. Each time we met with Pastor Bill on Zoom, it was relaxing, fun, knowledgeable, and productive. Pastor Bill also offered a complimentary couples assessment which he spent time in explaining what our strengths and areas of improvement were as a couple, to help our marriage succeed. It meant a lot to us that our chosen officiant did not only want to perform the most important ceremony of our wedding, but that he wanted to our marriage to continue grow and flourish, and was providing us with tools and advice to do so.
On the day of the ceremony, the vows that Pastor Bill had us previously approve and recite were standard, for which we are both grateful - we were so nervous and caught up in the whirlwind of the wedding! However, it was Pastor Bill's words after, the words on the meaning of marriage, that were personal, and resonated with us and our guests. We laughed, we cried, and we were married.

We were married in Pastor Bill’s backyard on September 24, 2020.
We cannot be more happy with the outcome and results. Not only was Pastor Bill’s family gracious and accommodating to us, we were also able to feel his comfort, while supporting us throughout the wedding day. He’s a very skilled pastor, hard to come by and we feel blessed to have been in his community and for meeting him. When performing the ceremony, pastor Bill's professionalism and experience really showed. He is an excellent speaker who speaks with kindness, authority and love that really draws you in. My husband said that he felt extremely comfortable and calm throughout the ceremony because of pastor Bill's presence, and so did I. Needless to say, the ceremony was perfect!

After the ceremony, many of our guests, including my parents, came up to me and my husband and told us (with excitement) what a perfect fit pastor Bill was and how lovely it would be to have him officiate upcoming family weddings! Hearing these compliments from our family and friends confirmed what my husband and I had felt from the very beginning - that pastor Bill was the best decision we made for our wedding, and the best decision you can make too!
