Celebrate your vows amidst the eternal splendor of the Ming Dynasty-style Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden in Vancouver. The serene atmosphere of this garden utilizes the perfect harmony and balance of the four main elements: rock, water, earth, and architecture. Lovely covered pathways, courtyards, pavilions, and a beautiful collection of ancient miniature trees adorn the garden.

Facilities and capacity

The garden serves as a gorgeous location for outdoor events. During the evening, the pathways are lit with amazing lantern lights that provide a serene ambiance. It can accommodate 500 guests for a cocktail reception and 250 guests for a seated banquet. The Hall of One Hundred Rivers covers an area of 1,300-square-feet. The space also boasts a courtyard that covers 714 square feet. The spaces can be combined to accommodate up to 200 guests for a reception. The Scholar’s Study and Courtyard are also available for seating 20 guests for a banquet or 70 guests for a standing reception. The Magnolia Courtyard and Jade Water Pavilion can each host a standing reception and seated arrangement for around 20 guests.

History The garden was built in 1985 by 52 master craftsmen from Suzhou China and Canada. The garden is a not-for-profit organization that focuses on the bridge of understanding between Chinese and Western cultures. It was artistically constructed with architectural precision without the use of nails, screws, or glue.
