The story of our wedding

We eloped! Neither of us had ever wanted a big wedding, so we went all out on a photographer and the clothes! My family is scattered across Canada, and his is all in England, and we figured if we couldn't have everyone there then we would make it an extra special day for us and our closest friends. Our ceremony only had five people, four in the wedding party and one friend officiated! They all joined us on a trek through the canyon for the photos, it was really hot but they turned out fantastically. It definitely wasn't easy walking through a canyon in a ball gown, but it was worth it! We spend the rest of the day playing lawn games like bocce and giant jenga, and eating picnic food! As covid is still going and in the interest of safety we actually got cupcakes instead of a wedding cake, and it was the best decision! We got to have three different flavours, and everyone got to take one home after. It really was the perfect day, and I'm so happy we chose to do it the way that we did. As a bonus, the spot we had the ceremony is perfect for us to visit with a picnic on anniversaries. We can't wait to get to celebrate our marriage in the years to come!
