The story of our wedding

We got married 3 months after our engagement. We had known each other for 5 years and dated for 8 months. We had our first date at the Prestige Lakeside Resort in Nelson and met up often at the gazebo right outside that hotel while we were dating so we decided to have our wedding there. We had a short engagement because, well, we wanted to be married. But also because Andrew's mom was sick and we didn't know how long she had. Sadly she died 2 months before the wedding from pancreatic cancer.

The wedding was simple but beautiful. We did the whole thing at the Prestige Lakeside Resort; ceremony, pictures and dinner. We had only 34 guests, 36 with us. We had the ceremony at 4pm in one room and then went outside right after to take pictures at 5pm. Then back inside to the room next door to visit and have a snack. At 6 the room next to us was opened up to the room we were in to start the buffet. The food was delicious! We had twinkle lights hanging everywhere and floating candles in large vases filled with water – the theme was Starry night. There was a mirror in the hall with all our guests names on it to show where to sit and then after dinner everyone was encouraged to jump around to the other tables and visit. Our wedding favor was a small gold bag filled with chocolate covered coffee beans. With our wedding name "Jandy" being the coffee beans name and our wedding date the established date of the coffee. The whole evening was wonderful and to make it better no one had to stay afterwards to clean up, the hotel did it for us. We went to our rooms and had a great night.
