The story of our wedding
On June 14 at 4:58pm I was officially pronounced as married to my best friend. We've been together for 9 years and the day we made it official was truly the best day of my life.
We got engaged the week before we moved into our first condo building in Toronto, at a park called Algonquin Park. We took a day off work, hopped in the car and drove 3 hours to this beautiful trail. Once we got to the top, that's when he popped the question. That was in September 2022.
The theme of our wedding was "modern elegance" and I think we were truly able to capture that. We did a lot of DIYs- guest book, made menus for each plate and hand glued pearls to each one, welcome sign, wedding selfie mirror and seating chart. We also DIY'd our save the dates, invitations and bought some small decor items.
We had 100 guests in total, and the whole day was filled with love, joy and happiness from all of our friends and family. The weather was perfect, and we had an outdoor ceremony followed by a cocktail hour also outdoors, and then a seated reception inside the venue.
Continue reading »We had white flowers with dark greenery in the bouquets, and our centerpieces were 5 pillar candles with greenery intertwined between the candles. The head table had the candles across the front with cascading greenery down the front of the table. It was so beautiful. We had our ceremony arrangements repurposed behind our head table and it really elevated the look! My husband wore a custom navy tuxedo, our groomsmen wore navy suits and our bridesmaids had navy blue chiffon dresses in whatever style they liked! Can you tell we like navy?!
My favourite moment from the day was after I had walked down the aisle and got to Brock. I had really started getting anxious about 2 hours before- I just couldnt believe it was happening and I was so excited to see him (we had spent the night before and all morning apart). Once I got to stand with him at the alter, all my worries and anxieties washed away- I was safe and I was home with my person.
I am so incredibly in love with him and I'm so thankful to have him.
The Sunday after our wedding we went on a 13 day honeymoon to italy! It was the greatest vacation of my life, and now we are back home settling back into our routine as husband and wife.
