Calin and Maggie's wedding in Drayton, Ontario

The story of our wedding

We were married on a stunning 5-acre property in the countryside. Our theme was rustic-relaxed, and our colours were greens, greys and golds. We had a food truck for our dinner, and they also supplied a bar truck, that we made self-serve. We bottled our own wine, we made signature drinks - "Mag"jito (Maggie and Mojito) and then "Cal" and Coke (Calin and Rum&Coke), and then had a mixture of beers and mixed drinks, as well as pop, juice and water available. Cocktail hour was served with chips and salsa, and the food truck was German styled so it was schnitzels, fish and sausages. The food truck also made fresh apple fritters for dessert. We had a few lawn games available for people to play if they didn't want to dance around the pool or sit down at the tables. We partied around the poolside with twinkle lights and glowing bulbs in the water. It was a night we will never forget.

Something that I thought was really sweet that we did, was during our first look we read each other our more personal vows, followed by a majority of the family photos. We wanted to be able to enjoy the whole day with everyone. During the ceremony, we made funny/simple vows to each other in front of everyone. He was born and raised in Romania and for his family members who came, we thought it would be a nice touch to add something for them and his background. So on all of our table numbers, I wrote the Romanian words on each one, with the number as well. Just a small touch to bring our families together.
