The story of our wedding

I'm from the Philippines and husband's from Coquitlam. I'm a flight attendant at Philippine Airlines and I met him December 2011 during one of my flights to Vancouver. After 6 months of friendly dinner and chats, we realized friendship was no longer enough and started dating. Long distance relationships are very challenging and we endured it for 5 years. However, spending three to five days a month and occasional two-week vacations were no longer enough for us, thus on March 10, 2017 my husband asked for my hand in marriage, and of course I answered yes! We began planning for our wedding and we decided to have it here in Canada with our families and close friends. We got married this past April 24th, 2018 by the creek at Deer Lake and the reception was at the Hart House restaurant. My husband and I agreed to have civil wedding, but we also requested our officiant Pastor John Crawford (I found him here on WeddingWire) to make it religious also. And he delivered it in a very intimate way! We only had 30 guests, our family and closest friends. After the ceremony, we walked to Hart House for the reception. We had canapes for our guests while our friend (and photographer) took our couple pictures. We did the traditional couple's first dance, cake cutting, wine toasting, and speeches from the maid of honor and best man down to parent's speech. We ended the party with our thank you speech and gifts for the guests. We all had a great time!
