The story of our wedding

On our 10 year anniversary, David and I tied the knot at our beautiful venue, WaterStone Estate and Farms in Newmarket Ontario with our immediate families. We began our planning in the fall of 2019 and envisioned a wedding of approximately 100 of our closest family and friends. We are one of the last couples on both sides of friends to be married, and as I mentioned earlier, have been together for quite some time! Everyone was so thrilled for us and our upcoming wedding. Enter, March 2020. Our planning came to a halt. We ended up planning about 4 different versions of our wedding day and postponing was not an option for us. Our wedding date would be our 10 year anniversary and that was very special to us. We scaled back, announcement after announcement and about 6 weeks before our wedding, made the difficult decision to postpone our reception to a later date and move forward with an intimate ceremony with just our immediate family. The day ended up being perfect! We had our guests join virtually and we sent each of them a ‘viewing party package’ which included a bride and groom cookie, mini champagne and personalized napkins. We said our vows with our parents present in the beautiful heritage barn, during a global pandemic. Obviously, this was a very challenging time but in the end, we got married and are ready to begin our lives as newlyweds!
