WEDDING DRESS: STELLA’S BRIDAL

I would like to say a big thank you to Stella's Bridal for helping me find my gorgeous wedding dress! I never thought an A-line dress would be for me, but I felt beautiful in my gown by Rebecca/Maggie Sottero. Although alternations were not cheap at Stella’s, I was very happy with the fit of my dress and straps.

CALLIGRAPHY: FULLMOONFONTS by Lauren

Lauren and I met through work and she has an incredible talent with writing. I was so lucky to meet with her multiple times and she offered great advice. Everything turned out so beautifully which was not shocking, and having someone able to write welcome signs and escort cards was a big time saver.

BRIDESMAID DRESSES: HUSH COLLECTION

Thank you to lovely ladies at Hush for helping my 5 bridesmaids find a gorgeous gown that fit all their body types. We actually went with 2 different styles that are very similar and don’t think any guests even noticed, so worked out great! I wanted a very neutral colour for my girls and was suggested Dusty Purple which is what we landed on! Simply stunning and I received so many compliments and questions on what the colour was. I may be biased but... I think our wedding day and colours all blended and came together beautifully! The dresses also came in the exact 4 month time since ordered as we were told so thank you I appreciate the punctuality.

Unfortunately, 1/5 of my bridesmaid dresses came in the wrong size (a 6 instead of an 8 ). She has only noticed this around a month or so before the wedding when she was ready to try it on again so it was too late to do anything about it but she was a little mad about that. She only let me know this after the wedding date so that it wouldn't stress me out during a very stressful busy time already. No worries now but I did want to mention that. It all worked out on the day as the dress fit her but was just tighter on the chest and would have fit better in the size she measured to.

GROOM & GROOMERS SUITS: MOORES POLO PARK

What can I say, guys are easy and Adrian Auriti at Moore’s Polo Park made it even easier! My husband worked with Adrian to order a custom Joe suit while also adding custom embroidery in each groomsmen's suit jacket and his own. Very happy with everything, and great deals J. Probably took 3-4 weeks from order date for the suits to come in. My husband went with a custom burgundy/maroon colour and our groomsmen wore a medium-grey solid.

SILK FLOWER WALL: URBN BLOSSOM

We really loved the gorgeous silk classic flower wall we ordered, and despite having a rainy day and our ceremony taking place inside, the wall still looked great where it was. Although difficult to initially book the company/get in contact with staff around early 2018 which was a bit frustrating, the wall was a hit with our guests and was a perfect addition to our reception room. The takedown was also extremely efficient and professional, was happy to have booked with UrbnBlossom for a good deal!

HAIR: FLOW HAIR SALON

Flow Hair Salon was very accommodation, professional and sweet during booking and to the wedding day. It was relaxing (as relaxing as you can be the morning of your wedding day!) to have hair and makeup at one location at the salon and all my girls with me as we got our hair styled. I got so many compliments!

CEREMONY/VENUE LOCATION: ST. BONIFACE GOLF CLUB

We would like to thank Tricia for all the work she put into our event along the 1.5-year planning process. Tricia was a pleasure to work with and we appreciated her attention to detail. From answering our emails in a timely manner to satisfying all our requests, we appreciated her professionalism and experience in helping make our wedding day as spectacular as we could have hoped for. We truly had an amazing beautiful wedding day surrounded by our closest family and friends at St.B!

There were a few things we were disappointed in how the evening was handle. Despite St. Boniface’s professionalism prior to the event, that did not continue into the evening of our wedding. Overall, we would give the service leading up to the day and the day itself a glowing review. We would give the service received the night of a poor-mixed review. Our supervisor was tough to deal with, difficult to find and we felt as if the day of events did not live up to the expectations we had prior.

Some examples are overall miscommunication with what was on our reception function sheet and what unfolded during the evening of our wedding. For example, was told there would be two gravy’s out for the poutine bar, but there was only one the night of (so that wasted some time in the evening trying to get an answer). Was told by Morgan Friday at our rehearsal that we would have an indoor arch (similar to set-up outside) if the wedding took place inside, which it did, and we were left with no arch and Floral Fixx scrambled to creatively put an arch on the back window. Was also told cake cutting was included in our package but at the time there was no knife or plates prepared, we had to request it all. I have left out other complaints not mentioned here but I think you get the idea of our mixed-review = we had heard great things about other staff and other weddings at St. Boniface, but also heard some mixed reviews. Our review would be quite mixed as well based on the service received vs. the expectations we had.

Lastly, St. Boniface has vendors they work with that are built into the packages you book. We experienced mixed reviews with some of those vendors as well. For example, we were very happy to have worked with Amanda from Simply Perfect Décor while planning the linens and decor for my wedding. I was very pleased with all the neutral tones and how simple yet beautiful all the tables/linens looked. On the other hand, working with the DJ company, Platinum Productions was not a great experience. We booked them for our social (wanting to try out a DJ because we were going to have them as our wedding DJ) and that was a weird experience (Paul the DJ was great, however!!). Wedding followed the same experience despite their efforts to give good service.
