6 Sep, 2019The story of our wedding
We knew very early on that our wedding colours would be our favourite – blue and white! These colours inspired our ocean wedding theme. We also incorporated a tinge of coral for a balance. To celebrate our culture, we dressed in traditional Chinese wedding attire for a tea ceremony in the morning. My dream wedding shoes were Sophia Webster's heeled sandals, Rosalind with "Wifey for Lifey" printed on the sole. For my husband, we found him a pair of cute "Happy Wife, Happy Life" socks. We went with a simple yet elegant design for our wedding invitations, which was inspired by ocean waves. The bridesmaids’ dresses were in a very light shade of blue. The girls held a bouquet of baby’s breath in a bold blue colour, creating a beautiful contrast. The wedding favours were DIY mini glass jars of cane sugar, which resembled sand inside a glass bottle. Our centrepieces were made from scratch by our florist. They were air plants decorated with sea urchin shells, resembling a jellyfish in the water. Our cake was designed with the same ocean waves idea in mind. We also added a cake topper that read "Sail away with me". Our signature cocktail named “Blue me away” was vodka with blue curacao and Sprite.
