The story of our wedding

The best day I could have dreamed of. Our wedding was planned by my husband and I in five months while I was on a visitor visa in Canada. We planned each part by dreaming big and finding inventive ways to meet those dreams and desires. We started the day by a first look in Pacific Spirit Park in Vancouver, BC where we met. This park is a gorgeous forest near UBC full of evergreens and ferns. Springtime was just arriving so there were buds everywhere. The day prior I went to this park and collected some branches for my bouquet and for the arbor to be behind us during the ceremony. My husband and I had a few hours to enjoy being together and get excited for the rest of the day to come. Our wedding party was full of our best friends, we hung out and ate lunch together as the rest of our friends prepared our wedding. The UBC Boathouse in Richmond was our venue of choice from the beginning and it ended up being our place on the day. We scheduled our ceremony and reception at the same venue mid March. A week before our wedding it snowed about 20 cm. Twenty! We were longing for a sunny day to have the ceremony on the dock with the stunning views of the mountains and the river. It ended up being a warm sunny day on March 11th, the warmest day of the entire year so far. We had a wonderful at the UBC Boathouse, every space is picturesque and rad. The building itself needs minimal decor as it is stunning and so easy to dream in. We only used hanging lights and florals to personalize it. Our photographer, Liz Rudman, and videographer, Braiden, took us out for golden hour to grab some shots of us together as a married couple. The lighting was dreamy, we danced as the sunset. Our friends stood on the balcony watching the gorgeous sunset also. Our caterer was phenomenal, the food was clean and delicious. Working with him was fun and easy, we made friends afterwards. Everyone hit the dance floor afterwards and it was a joyous time. I highly recommend having such an amazing community.
