The story of our wedding
My name is Ingrid Mae - and my husband, Gabriel and I would love to share our wedding with you! We got married on September 1, 2019 (09-01-19) in Drumheller, Alberta!
We chose Drumheller as a mini destination wedding outside of Edmonton because we wanted to have a unique wedding. We found this place through hours of browsing on WeddingWire. We were so thrilled when we found out we can have our ceremony outside the Badlands Community Facility!
My husband and I love deserts, dinosaurs and the Toronto Raptors and this setting was absolutely perfect!! We had about 150 guests fly in from all over the world, as far as Australia, the Philippines, the United States, Ontario and Vancouver. We also had guests who drove from Regina, Red Deer, Calgary and of course Edmonton. It felt like a reunion and a wedding all at the same time!
The wedding weekend was perfect! We had the Saturday to set up and do our rehearsal and the Sunday to celebrate it all in. All our decorations were DIY with a rustic and bohemian theme in gold and burgundy colours. I enjoyed the planning process of the wedding. I did almost all of the wedding planning, coordinating and decorating - until the day-of where my friends and family stepped in to play it out for us. My vision of the wedding came into life with the help of our family and friends. Using WeddingWire was a great tool to help me understand the timelines and deadlines for our perfect day! I was able to contact vendors and find inspiration for our decorations and wedding theme.
Continue reading »The weekend of the wedding was forecasted to have rain and thunderstorm showers. I woke up at 6 in the morning of my wedding day, opened my windows and saw the badlands and the World's Largest Dinosaur. The weather was perfect, the skies were clear and we got married in the garden by the Red Deer River. We did our first look and photos by the Horseshoe Canyon which made such a beautiful backdrop. My flowers were exactly what I wanted - bohemian and chic. Our reception hall was glittering in lights with our cascading backdrop.
