The story of our wedding

Gavin and I met when we were in high school when Gavin didn't do his homework and needed a hand! I was a retreat leader for the younger grades (they would go on day-long retreats to do team-building exercises etc.) and Gavin convinced a mutual friend to ask our teacher to let him join in on a retreat...surprisingly, she said yes! We officially met at the church where the retreat was being held and since then we've been inseparable.

We ended up going to different universities hours apart and then different colleges when we graduated but we ended up making it work. Six years later, we went to an Ed Sheeran concert (one of our favourite artists) and during his performance of Perfect (which we also say is a song about us), Gavin looked over at me and decided that he wanted to propose.

With the help of my family and best friends, Gavin planned an amazing surprise proposal at the church that we first met and of course I said yes! He then surprised me afterwards with a dinner where our entire families were there and the space was decorated with photos of us over the years. It was a beautiful and intimate dinner with our favourite people to celebrate the occasion.
