The story of our wedding

Throughout the week, the weather was cold and grey, so we were very worried about having an outdoor October wedding in Calgary, but by the time the wedding ceremony came along, the clouds were gone, the sky was blue, and you could sit outside without a jacket! We had our ceremony at Hull's Wood in Fish Creek Provincial Park. My brother in law played the guitar as I walked down the aisle with my dad, something I've been looking forward to my whole life. After the ceremony, guests went to Lake Sundance for our cocktail hour and reception. We had hot chocolate, coffee, cookies, cakes, pies, you name it, we had it! I did much of the baking myself as I love to bake, and everything turned out perfect! The speeches from our family and friends were heartfelt and funny and we felt the love radiating off of everyone in the room. Our DJ was amazing and had the dance floor hopping all night long! Our photographer did a great job, and I couldn't have asked for a better caterer. Overall, the day was amazing and it couldn't have been more perfect. In the weeks since, I have enjoyed getting to hear stories from our guests of things that happened that we didn't know about and it sounds like everyone had a wonderful day as well, so I couldn't be happier with how the day turned out! A very DIY day, and it was more perfect than anything we would've paid for :)
