The story of our wedding

When I reflect back on our Labor Day weekend wedding, I get so emotional! I'm from the United States and my husband is from Montréal, where we now reside. Our wedding at Esterél Resort was absolutely incredible. We had family and friends come from near and far and make our wedding weekend so special! We were so pleased with all of our vendors, from the resort services, to our wedding cake and treats from Rustique and everything in between, photographer, videograper, flowers and food! It was the perfect day. Although the weather didn't cooperate and my dreams of an outdoor wedding overlooking the lake were torn, I was very pleased with our last minute Plan B and the coordination of Esterel's team to get everything set up and looking exactly how I imagined it to be.

My bridal party was so supportive and absolutely stunning and Hugo's groomsmen were the life of the party... so goofy and so handsome! Our parents were so loving and supportive throughout the entire planning process and leading up to the wedding day. I've never been so emotional and felt so loved than on that Sunday. Our wedding day was everything we could have dreamed of and even more! My photographer and videographer kept me calm and relaxed minutes leading up to my walk down the aisle, I'm so grateful for them! I did my first look with my dad. Oh my goodness. Tears, laughter, smiles and lots of nerves... but so much love for my dad and the blessing he gave to my (at the time) my future husband. He embraces Hugo as a son, shares so much in common and whole heartedly supports the love we share. My mom was my rock and best friend throughout the entire planning process. Planning a wedding hundreds of miles from your mom is the hardest thing, but thank goodness for FaceTime and much appreciated visits. She was able to be in Montreal when I found my wedding dress, that was so special for the both of us. I ended up choosing a veil that we then took piece of hers and sewed in to mine. It was a dream! She helped so much with research of venues, invitiations, decor, DIY projects and all the little details. I love her!
