19 May, 2022The story of our wedding
We had an amazing day! Hair and make-up for the bridal party started at 9, groom's side shaves started at 10:30. Our limo picked us up and as we were so close to the venue he took us on a tour of the historic area which we really liked. The rooms at Rouge were amazing and only 2 pairs of pants were lost before the ceremony. Our non traditional music for the ceremony was amazing (my song was Missing Piece by Vane Joy) and our officiant made us laugh and cry which was amazing. We Rick Rolled the guests for our recession (not everyone got it, but still amazing). Photos had to be done inside due to weather so very happy we got a chaise and a couple chairs. Although it did clear up for a few minutes and we got a couple photos outside (take that mother nature!)The reception was a little chilly in the tent and thankfully we had thought to include blankets in the favours. Any people did not want to take home we told them we would be donating to the Women's Shelter which went over very well. Instead of clinking glasses for us to kiss we had vases and people had to donate to the Veterans Food Bank for us to kiss (raised $200)The food was amazing, we had a couple lamb converts. The vegan and vegetarian options were amazing I hear and they were able to accommodate the food allergies easily. There were a couple hiccups with the menu but easily resolved to our satisfaction. We danced to Jann Arden's cover of the Cure's "Love Song" for our first song and it was amazing. Our dance was fun, short and sweet. Our transportation after the wedding was great and they helped take stuff to the hotel which was appreciated. Overall and amazing day!
