14 Sep, 2018The story of our wedding
Jody and I have been together for over 15years. The wedding was an afterthought but definitely something we knew we wanted when the time was right. Finally, this year it was. From the start we knew we wanted a Northern Ontario Wedding feel, but trekking everyone from Toronto, and further, up to Muskoka seemed inappropriate, especially for my large Italian family. Luckily during venue hunting we stumbled across the Briars Resort and Spa set at the south end of Lake Simcoe. With its deep rooted history, laid back atmosphere and lots of rocks and trees and water (our wedding theme) it was the perfect fit. So we set a date of September 14th. We wanted a wedding near the fall but with the way weather has been going, we didnt know if we were going to get fall, winter or summer. We got summer and it was HOT, but no rain so it turned out beautifully. The resort even allowed our old wildlife education group to come out with a skunk, blandings turtle and a great horned owl, so awesome. Photography by Hasahn Fisher made the memories, DJ and officiant by HomemadeJamDJs helped with the flow and kept everyone on the dance floor. We could not have asked for a better day. Everyone had a fantastic time! Now we patiently await our 2 week Costa Rica honeymoon at the end of October. What a whirlwind year it has been, and most importantly, how much closer it brought us as a couple it was so worth it!
