26 May, 2018The story of our wedding
It was a fantastic day. It all went according to the planned schedule and the timelines were spot on due to Joyce's superb planning and our day of manager Angela. Day started off with the Groom going to the Bride's home for door games (Chinese tradition) doing funny dances, wearing funny clothes, singing, and expressing why the Groom loves the Bride, where the Groom ended up breaking down in tears. Next was the tea ceremony for the Bride's parents and her family members where the Bride and Groom each serve tea to the family and receive a red pocket filled with money and gold jewellery. The Groom then leaves and meets the Bride at the photoshoot location for some photos, then on to the venue for another tea ceremony for the Groom's side and his family with more red pockets and jewellery. Next was the ceremony, looking back now we wish it could have lasted a bit longer because it all went by so quickly. The food was amazing at Paradise Banquet Hall. Everyone enjoyed the appetizers and the main course. We brought in our own roast pig which is part of chinese tradition to have one at every wedding. The pig went the fastest. More photos with family and friends before the reception and we had lots of fun doing it. The weather was great, it called for thunder storms the previous day, but it was all sunshine and clear skies where we were at. It was like God intended for us to have an amazing day! After photos we got everyone inside to sit down for us to make our grand entrance, cake cutting and first dance. We were running around or being pulled around to take photos of everyone, very hectic, but it was fun, nonetheless. We had speeches from family, maid of honor, best man, mother/father of the bride, brother of the bride, sister of the groom, and finally a toast from the Groom and Bride. We made everyone laugh and teary eyed during our toast which was the plan. We went around to each table to toast and thank everyone for coming to celebrate with us, and final festivities were sparklers during the night where we got everyone to go outside on the patio to have some fun and pics with the sparklers. As the guests started to leave, the dancing and drinking started, the photobooth went online and everyone was having a grand time. The night ended at 1 a.m, though the Bride and Groom would have liked it to end a little sooner as we were running on fumes. A huge tip: eat and rest as much as you can in between venues, locations, etc.
