The story of our wedding

Our wedding was a DIY Harry Potter wedding. We had 2 groomsmen and 2 bridesmaids all wearing black. Each had an accent colour for a Hogwarts house. My bridesmaids where Gryffindor red, and Hufflepuff yellow. The groomsmen wore Ravenclaw blue, and Slytherin green. My fiancée/husband and I were in white/black and purple.

My then fiancée and I spent 18 months making all the decor that we used. I made five cakes in five different flavors. The Main cake was white, gold, and purple and was flavoured red wine chocolate. The Gryffindor cake was strawberry/raspberry flavored, the Hufflepuff cake was lemon, the Ravenclaw cake was blue velvet coconut, and the Slytherin was pistachio.

The tables had painted glass bottles in gold, silver, and copper with melted candles in them. Each of the house tables had their own centrepieces. The Gryffindor tables had centrepieces with the theme of transfiguration, the Hufflepuff table had centerpieces with the theme of herbology, the Ravenclaw table had centerpieces with the theme of charms and the Slytherin table had centrepieces with the theme of potions. We had "floating candles", and "flying keys" on the ceiling as well as huge purple star lanterns.
