The story of our wedding

We are the couple that should never have met. A small-town Californian girl, and a suburban gentleman from Belgium. Our story begins one fall day in Boston where we both were starting grad school. While in grad school, we spent every day together, travelling to each other's homes to meet the family, even going backpacking in China when we had a few spare weeks. After grad school, I got a job in Miami, and my sweet man from the land of chocolate wound up in Canada. This love story was full of all you can expect, lots of flights, skype calls, cultural clashes and creative ways to show we care. Nine months in a surprise engagement swept us both up, where I would find myself in Paris, a place we both bonded over when we met. My next question was where in the world, would we have this wedding? After lots of planning, we chose Quebec, Canada - we both now live in Toronto. Why Canada you ask? It is the mid-way point for both families. Three years later, it was finally our day. Our wedding day perfectly represented our whimsical, different, warm yet simple love with our absolute favourite people. 100 guests flew in from both California and Belgium to Quebec, Canada. It was a day overwhelmingly filled with laughs, Belgian traditions plus some never-ending Mexican/American dances. We could not have asked for a better day, or place to share the start of this chapter of our story.
