The story of our wedding

Our engagement began in March 2018 on a beach in Cuba. Mike proposed on one knee on the Cayo Santa Maria beach at 1:00 am along the water on our last night of vacation there with some close family and friends.

From the engagement, we quickly started the search for a venue as we both agreed to 2019 as our year. Within just a couple weeks we had a venue for our day that fitted us perfectly.

The venue was an old rustic barn that had been stripped out just for weddings, which definitely fitted our mould. Being outside town, we had a bus pick everyone up at the end of the night to bring us all back to the hotel.

Our favourite moment, aside from marrying each other's best friend, is definitely a tough one. The entire day went perfectly – from the weather to the food to the photographer. But if we have to pick, I think the dance was the best, especially when both our moms showed up in large wigs singing Dancing Queen by Abba.
