31 Dec, 2022The story of our wedding
We got together in Banff so it only seemed fitting to tie the knot there too. We now have three children so we did want to keep things on a budget which is what led me to the Rocky Mountain Resort. The space is very cost efficient to rent itself but you are still getting the top quality menu options which literally every guest at my wedding raved about(we had the Gold Buffet with Chicken, Striplion & Gnocci…plus all of the sides were amazing too)…Most of the men went up for seconds on the striploin if not more. We brought our own centre pieces, flowers/garlands, sign, guest book, etc and we were able to set it all up the day before. We met with the food and Beverage Manager. Kelly, the day before just to go over everything one more time. The staff was very responsive and attentive, they even re opened the shuttle for us at 9:30 PM to take us all to the bar for New Year’s Eve. We saved money by skipping a cake, not doing much for decorations, not doing a dress rehearsal, only having one person stand up with each of us(less flower Cost, gift cost, etc), and we brought artificial bouquets from our local florist rather than purchasing them fresh In Banff. We were able to keep our entire wedding within our budget of $10,000. Some highlights of the night were bringing cups & balls for flip cup and beer pong, singing karaoke on the sound system, the food, going out to the bar for New Year’s Eve and our Jenga guest book which we loved reading the next day. We also did a “kissing menu” to get the bride and groom to kiss which included telling a funny story, giving a touching toast, and your entire table singing a song for the bride and groom which really filled In the gaps and brought everyone together!
