We were so thankful that despite Covid-19 we were able to still have our private ceremony and a small backyard reception, just with some minor adjustments and a little downsizing. We ended up having the most beautiful day and we were so lucky not only to have the help that we did, but to be able to see all of the loving touches from the people we love on our special day.
We got engaged in November 2019 (Kris proposed in our new home on the day we took possession!). We knew we wanted to get married in less than a year and planned for August, and we're so grateful that we were able to make that happen.
It was always so important to me that our wedding be a true reflection of us, so it was awesome to be able to incorporate so many bright colours, pineapples, and little nods to us and our relationship. One of my favourite details was the lunchboxes - we had a few other ideas for food, but this was one of the changes we needed to make for Covid-19 as buffet-style wasn't recommended. We ended up making individual lunchboxes with a choice between two sandwiches and two salads, but it allowed us to get creative while keeping food separated. Besides - how could I not be happy with a turkey brie sandwich with raspberry compote? Holy yum!
