The story of our wedding

Our wedding was a fairy tale come true. Everyone says there will be some sort of hiccup, or something will go wrong on your wedding day, but nothing did. Or perhaps we were simply so caught up in the bliss of the day that we didn't notice. Honestly, the day was so perfect I can't find a way to describe it. I married the love of my life, my best friend, my perfect partner. Despite COVID-19, we were able to celebrate it with so many of our friends and family, both in person and through livestream. As we arrived at the reception, every car that passed honked at us, and people on the street were cheering and congratulating us. It felt like the whole city was happy for us!

While we were taking pictures, a little girl came up to me, dressed in pink little heels and dress up gloves to her elbows. Her mom explained that she had seen me and thought I was a princess. Obviously her next step was to adorn herself in her own princess attire and come and ask me for a picture, which I was delighted to give. I asked her if she wanted to hold my bouquet, and her whole face lit up as she exclaimed "Yes!" The amount of joy that seemed to be emanating from my husband and I to the whole world around us was overwhelming. For that day, there was no COVID, there were no wars, no starvation, no evil at all in the world. Everyone was happy, we were happy, and we wanted to share it with everyone we met. I feel like every wedding I go to now, I'll think of that. When a couple gets married, for a minute the whole community and world around them stops to be happy for just a day, and I love that so much.
