The story of our wedding
Leandro (Leo) and I got engaged in February 2019 when we went to Ottawa for our annual Valentine's Weekend trip to skate on the Rideau Canal, eat frozen maple syrup, awe at all of the beautiful ice sculptures, and love each other's company. Leo planned a surprise proposal at Major Hill Park with a gorgeous backdrop overlooking the Parliament building, he hired a local fly on the wall photographer and truly had a breathtaking winter proposal.
Planning our wedding was so much fun, Wedding Wire definitely helped at every stage with every checklist item and notification tip that came through to us.
Our original date was April 4 (04/04) but unfortunately, the pandemic took hold and adjusted our plans like it did with so many couples across the globe. We are definitely one of the lucky ones. Although we did have to decrease our guest count from 100 to 55, we ended up doubling our date to 08/08 (always makes us laugh now) and actually had a more beautiful and intimate outdoor ceremony and indoor reception with our family and close friends who matter most.
Continue reading »My favourite part of the day was our first look when I finally got to not only reveal the dress I'd had in the works for more than a year, but I got to see my handsome groom who would be my husband in only a matter of hours. No wait, my favourite part was walking down the aisle with my father and the surreal feelings of time slowing down in the most heavenly way. Honestly, it's hard to pinpoint one favourite moment because the whole day was the best, most amazing day of my entire life, so far.
We got to dance the night away after a delicious dinner and great open bar service, surrounded by happy smiles and warm hearted speeches from our loved ones, I wouldn't change our wedding for the world.
I felt so beautiful, we felt so much love and support. I truly feel our day was meant to be.
