The story of our wedding

We're two travel junkies who met backpacking in the Philippines 10 years ago. Madison proposed in Cuba a year and a half ago and we decided to have a hometown Calgary wedding with all those we hold near and dear.

My best friends and sister (Kelly, Caroline and Kelsey) were bridesmaids and did both my hair and makeup. Our longtime friends Andrea and Matt officiated, the cake was made by friend Lydia and our friends and parents helped set up, serve and take down. Our wedding was a collaboration of so many people that we loved wanting to help and doing fantastic jobs. Everything seemed custom and I still can't believe how much we were spoiled.

During the ceremony the vows were very emotional but punctuated with the most hilarious stories told by our officiants that had both us and all of our guests laughing. My favourite part of the day!

Our whole wedding was held at Mewata Armoury in Calgary (Madison is in the army reserves). Mewata is over 100 years old and the beautiful dining room was filled with so much charm, original wood and chandeliers. Our fantastic wedding planner Brilliant Events decorated incredibly with silver candle holders, flowers and gold chargers.
