Mamoon and Sarah's wedding in Toronto, Ontario

The story of our wedding

On a beautiful late October day, in the bustling city of Toronto, Ontario, Sarah and Mamoon had their special day which has been years in the making. Sarah and Mamoon were engaged in August of 2021, and had been planning their nuptials ever since. The day was filled with beautiful and classic black and ivory details, tying together their vision for a modern and romantic day perfectly. They spent the morning getting ready at the Toronto Markham Marriott, then headed to the stunning Aga Khan museum for their first look and bridal party pictures. They then headed to The Glasshouse Studios to meet with their families for portraits before then moving to the classically beautiful Parkview Manor to meet with all their guests.

This couple and their loved ones came together to celebrate not only each other and their beautiful union, but also the fusion of their cultures of their two families. Sarah is of Iranian and Scottish descent, and Mamoon is of Lebanese descent. To pay homage to their cultures, they included performers throughout their reception to share their special traditions with all their friends and family. They had an Arabic Zaffe group for their entrance, with sparklers, drums and even a saxophone player. They had a local Scottish dance group perform traditional highland dancers during the meal. And lastly, they partook in the traditional Persian knife dance, which entails the sisters and cousins of the bride dancing with the wedding knife until the groom can convince them to return the knife to the couple so they can cut their cake, symbolizing their union together.
