The story of our wedding

We had the most perfect day! At a brand new greenhouse venue in Abbotsford, Urban Jungle Plant Co., surrounded by candle light, tropical plants, and pops of colour, we said I do and partied hard with all of our loved ones!The rain held off for photos but added a magical touch on the greenhouse roof during the ceremony - I hear it’s good luck!Our wedding planner, Events by Elle was AMAZING. I don’t know how many brides can say “everything went according to plan and it was exactly what I dreamed of”, but Elle made that a reality for me!My florist, Chelsea Anne Florals went ABOVE and beyond. When I walked down the aisle and saw my floral pillars for the first time I was shocked - they were so much better (full, HUGE, whisky but lush) than I ever could have expected!My makeup artist, Artistry by Ksenia worked with my eczema skin, and helped me achieve the vision of what I wanted - me, but elevated. I don’t typically wear makeup, so I wasn’t liking trials with full glam or a ton of brightening around my eyes. She helped me look glowy and fresh!Our photographer (@brepoolephotography) and videographer (@cooperloeppkymedia) were INCREDIBLE and were so much fun! They turned around 100+ sneak peaks in less than 24 hours!Our catering was Simply Savoury (BBQ food) and was SOOO yummy! We had a lot of allergies and they were very careful and professional. I’m celiac and felt very safe!We got our wedding cake from Lemonade Bakery (a gluten free bakery in Vancouver)The dresser for our guests was Cartems Donuts as well as Krispy Kreme donuts.We DIYed our bar and pre-made painkiller and margarita mix to be shaken with booze on site. Huge hit!!My dress was from Essence of Australia and I loved it! But honestly, there were some parts that just weren’t awesome. The folds of fabric on the bum specifically were pinned really weirdly, so they needed to be altered and it was difficult. The top’s boning was also placed incorrectly so the top bent forward, revealing the lining.My seamstress, however, was AMAZING!!! Dress Maker Pro (Walnut Grove)!! Rodica made me custom sleeves and completely transformed the dress to fit well to my body. She also corrected the mistakes EOA had made.My bridesmaid dresses were from Billy J and I can’t speak highly enough about them!!! Great fabric, quality lining, the top had a sticky strip so it doesn’t slid down! I shipped it to Oregon then had my friend from there bring it after she visited home. Shipping Australia to Canada has around a 40% duty fee I believe.We thrifted a ton of decor and DIYed lots as well :) check the wedding out or DM me on IG for more posts/to ask questions! @delalstad
