23 Nov, 2017The story of our wedding
We had the most spectacular wedding in the mountains back in November. Max and I had been together for 12 years and so planning was smooth sailing and not stressful at all! Wedding planning is so fun!
We worked with Pretty Haus for hair and makeup and they were amazing. My entourage and I got ready at the Holiday Inn while Max got ready at our home in Canmore.
We booked Studio Lumen to do our photos two years in advanced. They were so easy to get along with. We honestly couldn't have picked better photographers to work with. Our wedding day, of all things, was rainy but it created this ethereal and moody atmosphere in the mountains that was so spectacular for pictures.
One of the most memorable parts of our wedding was, of all things, the ceremony. We worked alongside Barbara Parker from Threshold Ceremonies to create a personalized ceremony fit for our needs. We both come from varying religious backgrounds and didn't want to partake in any of it. We wanted the ceremony to center on us, the people we were sharing the day with and the landscape that is the Rocky Mountains. We picked the readings, put our own twist on things and it was very clearly our wedding. No one elses. That was incredibly special and I hope to remember the day just for these special moments.

They blew me away with their attentiveness and attention to detail. The food was amazing and the space was stunning. Darci from Kake Canmore made our cakes and that was easily my favorite thing we ate that night! Everyone was raving about our charcoal lemon cake.
We wanted to have an intimate and timeless wedding. We did just that. We have been together for so long that getting married just gave us an excuse for a really awesome party. There is something to be said about long engagements. It extended the process to a breathable pace. We made most decisions together and met some really great people along the way. Take your time to plan and enjoy the process. The wedding day goes by so fast. We breathed in the day and took in as much as we could. We will never forget the amazing atmosphere the people, the space, the day provided. I am still on cloud nine and I hope it never stops!
