The story of our wedding

I woke up early Thursday August 12th, I saw rain and my heart sank, I made my morning tea and went on with getting ready for a long drive to Whispering Springs for my big day. I drove alone and my mother/MOH was picking up my bridesmaids along her way. By the time I rolled across the gravel road of our venue, the rain had stopped and the clouds were beginning to clear, I waited 20 minutes for my bridal party behind me and we proceeded to our glamping-Bell tent to get ready in before the ceremony. We had champagne, fruit and waffles. My aunt Robin arranged some last minute wedding party makeup artists and hairstylists to help out and we were only 30 minutes late to the ceremony lol(my flower girl kept running away to twirl around in her dress and her hair pins kept falling out while we tried to set her curls). We ended up forgetting all about the 10 strings on my dress that ended up poking out or dragging when I walked and I wished we had cut them because they showed up in so many pictures but now it’s just a funny story. The rain had completely cleared and dried, it was a beautiful hot and sunny day for our wedding, 28 degrees and full sun. My husband had broken his ankle exactly 1 week before the wedding so he had his friend spray paint his crutches black and his mother bought him a peg for his knee to rest on so he could still manage our handfasting ceremony and first dance. Our venue was so big that we didn’t even need to worry about masks or COVID restrictions, we could even have a donut wall and charcuterie board for our guests and ourselves. It was worth the years long stressful planning and ups and downs with covid restrictions and guest numbers, I’m so glad we chose the perfect date and even for a Thursday the majority of our guests made the trip out for our big day! It was an absolute dream and my hubby didn’t even have to take any pain meds for his ankle until after the dance lol. We lost a couple decor items along the way with him going to bed early and losing a couple drunken groomsmen but it was all worth it for the best day ever! I wish it lasted longer
