The story of our wedding

Michael and I (Samm) got engaged in May, 2022 hiking on our favourite part of the Bruce Trail in Lincoln, Ontario which is where I was born and raised. It was a low key, unexpected and perfect way to get engaged. We had a great remainder of the day celebrating with family and friends and a few bottles of bubbly.

We knew we wanted a fall wedding, but didn't want a long engagement which meant we were going to plan a wedding in just 6 months! It was a lot of work as I took on the planning myself (happily), and was so pleased with all of the personal details I was able to incorporate.

We had an unseasonably gorgeous day! When we originally booked the date we were almost certain we wouldn't be able to have our ceremony outside, but the weather had other plans. We had a beautiful ceremony on the patio at the Balls Falls Conservation Area Building. The sun was shining, a little overcast, but our guests were all comfortable. My (bride's) father officiated which was truly special. We had our reception inside the building in the Glen Elgin Room which was absolutely perfect. We had some incredible local vendors to round out our experience (which was very important to us). Shoutouts to MK Floral (floral design), Wildhearts Studio (photography), Chef Brad Rempel (catering and dessert), Chamberlain Entertainment (DJ), TGR Services (archway and photo booth backdrop construction) and Balls Falls (venue) - all from within the Niagara Region. We couldn't have been more thankful to celebrate with all of our favourite people under one roof.
