17 Aug, 2019The story of our wedding
It was a beautiful sunny day where we were surrounded by family and friends. My brother played his bagpipes to pipe me down the aisle. My Mom found it hard as my Dad was no longer there to witness it (he passed away 5 years ago from cancer) but Mike had a locket with a picture of my Dad put on my bouquet. Mike cried saying all of our vows and stopped his pocket watch the second we signed the registry to mark the exact time we became husband and wife. We were piped out and then after family photos went to Bower Ponds for photos only to find out we were crashing Pride. We took our few photos and then went to a different park to get some photos. During cocktails, people ate appetizers made by my in-laws and played outdoor games. We came back to a lovely buffet dinner by Remi’s catering, then did our speeches which were hilarious. We cut our cake and served cupcakes. The cake was cut with a dirk knife that my husband handcrafted in his forge and make a server to match. We had our first dance and then we partied the night away. Later in the evening, the DJ pulled out some Thunderstruck by AC/DC and my brother who plays the bagpipes played along. Most people continued to dance until midnight to 1 am in the morning. Just as we were getting ready to leave my mechanic husband had to jump the limo service and shuttle service cars and then we headed back to the hotel. Definitely a memorable evening!
