The story of our wedding

Having grown up in Field BC and Golden BC, I always knew i would get married in the mountains. Golden BC is THE perfect location and there is nothing quite like the wetlands in the Valley. Our vendors for the day were so incredible and the main reason for submitting my wedding is that I really want to highlight each and every one for helping make my day the best it could be.

The day itself started out with torrential rain… the kind of rain that seems as if they sky has just opened up and you’re breathing water. It was beautiful.. and i think good luck. Sitting on the balcony to my room, with a view of the mountains, drinking coffee and writing my vows in the rain.. it was a perfect morning to start the day. I wanted to write my vows that morning and not in advance. I liked the romantic idea of thinking through all the reasons Mike was my person and why i wanted to marry him. It was idyllic.

Fortunately, as the day went on the rain passed, taking with it the scorching heat from the previous weeks and leaving behind a wonderfully cool, cloud covered, and lush day. We would later realize the benefit of the rain was that it would suppress all the mosquitos for the rest of the day (See, GOOD LUCK!).
