6 Oct, 2018The story of our wedding
We got married on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend in the afternoon. It was the perfect day as it will always remind us of what to be thankful for. We got married in the afternoon with first look photos planned at a local park ahead of time. I was nervous about the possibility of there being rain but it turned into a beautiful day. When we got back to the church for the ceremony, I was both excited and nervous, certain that I would cry throughout the day. I watched from a back corner as the guys lined up to go down the aisle and then I began to tear up as I watched my girls begin to walk down the aisle. By the time it was my dad and my turn, I had composed myself. We listened for our cues of the song, beginning to walk to the door, once we were ready to walk down the aisle I knew that I couldn't be happier. This was where I was meant to be. I walked down the aisle towards my future husband, with a huge smile on my face. When he walked down from the stage to get me, he was all ready to give me a kiss, which was where the pastor stopped us, saying it wasn't that time, and lightening the air of the moment. Although the ceremony is partly a blur, I know we said our vows, we had our kiss, signed the papers and were presented as husband and wife. Onto the reception, family and friends gathered around us, we did our best to mingle with the guests, and although missing some, I'm so glad that we were able to welcome and thank as many as we did. By the time we left it was a little after 8pm, one of the guests had suggested to the MC that the guests do an arch with their arms for us to run under and leave, it was the perfect ending to the perfect day.
