The Engagement
In December 2017, I woke up on a weekday to my partner telling me to get up quick and get dressed - he was bringing me somewhere. Half asleep and very confused, I got dressed and climbed into his truck and we started driving.
As we were driving, he pulled a backpack from the backseat and told me to open it. Inside, there were a bunch of wrapped presents. I opened them as we drove, and found various cold weather items such as a toque, gloves, a vest, etc. Even more confused, I kept asking him what was going on. He was smiling the whole time but wouldn't give it away.
Finally, after about 45 minutes of driving and my incessant questioning and confusion, he started to play "New York New York" by Frank Sinatra on the stereo...about 25 minutes later, we were boarding a plane.

Central Park was covered in snow, and as we walked around the corner at Belvedere Castle, there was a bench set up with two cozy blankets, two pictures of us, hot chocolate, and smores.
As I walked up to the bench to see everything there, I turned around and he was on one knee...and he even had a photographer hiding in the bushes to capture it all!
