The story of our wedding

After two attempts at a wedding abroad, and one in our hometown (all cancelled because of COVID), we were starting to lose hope that we would ever get to say "I do" in a meaningful way. One night while strolling instagram, I came across an elopement giveaway organized by an incredible BC/Alberta photographer (Taylor Oseen). I entered never in my wildest dreams thinking that we would be considered. I didn't even tell my fiancé! A few days later, to my absolute shock, I found out that we had been selected! It was beyond a dream come true. The next four weeks were so full of joy, anticipation and excitement I didn't know if the actual elopement day could top it! Once again, I was wrong. The incredible group of generous vendors (angels) helped us pull of the most epic elopement of all time! First we started with a styled picnic at the base of a glacier (ie. my boho pinterest board come to life!), followed by cake cutting, some dancing and a nearly 2 hour hike up the most glorious mountain to finally say our vows at sunset. After it was official (and the sun was down), we strapped on our headlights to begin the trek down the mountain, followed by late night burgers! It was truly the most beautiful, love filled, adventurous day of our lives. But the best part was that the day only existed because of the selflessness, generosity and complete kindness of strangers. After a particularly tough year for us, it was the most beautiful reminder of humanity! We will never forget our magical day or the amazing team of creative humans (and now friends) who helped put it together! What a story to tell out children one day! We are beyond blessed to finally be husband and wife!
