The story of our wedding
After 2+ years of changing and cancelled plans, we finally celebrated with all our friends and family for our 2nd anniversary party (and proper wedding reception).

Previously... About our August 1st, 2020 Wedding:
After our May 16, 2020 plans were cancelled due to COVID, we were married August 1, 2020 weekend in my parents' backyard in Victoria. This is a special spot as my grandparents lived there for 30 years before my parents moved west. My husband and I have visited together many times over the past 6+ years and it holds many happy memories. Because the gathering limit for a private residence at that time was only 10 people, the in-person ceremony was just us, our parents, Steven's stepdad and Steven's sister and brother-in-law, with many other loved ones tuning in from across the country via Zoom. Not quite what we imagined, but it sure felt great to have rings on our fingers.

Continue reading »Though we were already married, we knew we still wanted to celebrate with our loved ones and thank them for all their support through the ups and downs of our wedding planning process. Plus, we had amazing vendors we still wanted to work with! So we held a 2nd anniversary party and vow renewal at the Vancouver Rowing Club on July 30, 2022. It was the most perfect day -- even better than we had imagined. Not having a big ceremony and photo sessions to worry about meant we were able to be fully present and take time with all our guests. Though it was a blistering hot day, we had an amazing time on the deck and even got to watch the 3rd night of the fireworks competition!
