Taku and Indy met in Lethbridge, Alberta in 2016. They started their relationship in Tokyo, Japan, and celebrated their union in Kananaskis+Canmore+Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.
The vow and ring exchange was done in Kananaskis country at Goat Pond. Three Sisters Transportation gave everyone a lift up to Goat Pond that morning for sunrise. The couple also took photos at sunset at Grotto Canyon. Both locations required a little bit of hiking so the shoes for the bride were white Sketchers. The couple stayed with friends and family at the Samsara Resort Rentals in Canmore, Alberta. This gave everyone the opportunity to tour around the Rockies after travelling all the way from Japan.
To accommodate family, the reception was held in Lethbridge, Alberta at the Norland Historic Estate. The decor at the Norland Historic Estate was provided through Lethbridge Event Rentals, and the table decor the couple DIY-ed with friends. The food for the reception was provided by LA Chefs in Lethbridge, Alberta. The DJ for the reception was Chris Fakir of Prime Entertainment & DJ Service. The reception portion ended with Mario Kart and Just Dance to help those that might not be into dancing the night away without a little bit of video game motivation. The main dress was purchased in Tokyo through CocoMelody and brought back to Canada in a box with some effort. The rings were custom made at K.Uno in Tokyo. The reception dress was from a small start up Elhada-204 run by Nav Dhillon in Calgary, Alberta, and the short dancing dress was found at clearance price at a wedding show from Durand Bridal.
Continue reading »The bridesmaids were tasked to find 3/4 length black tops that would go well with the skirts that were custom made by a local seamstress in Lethbridge, Delirium's Edge Designs. THE SKIRTS ALL HAVE DEEP POCKETS! The color theme was jewel tones and the mood was Punches of Fun. In other words from a distance it looks like a nice classy wedding between two nice, classy people . . . but when you get up close it is geeky since the couple are both movie geeks. The Groom's tie was Nightmare Before Christmas themed and each table was not a number, but a theme such as Studio Ghibli or Disneyland rides.
Kalla Ramberg was a wonderful photographer and was super flexible with the weird schedule, and also was willing to use her drone to capture some very special photos.
